Last weekend I was with my wife driving the coast of Maine for a getaway. In the tiny harbor town of Rockland, Maine, a nice older guy approached me as a State fan- I was wearing an MSU hat.
Whats the most obscure place you've encountered a friendly bulldog?
I've told this one before. I have 2.
1. I was on an Alaskan cruise in 2017. I was walking around Skagway with my MSU cap on while waiting for my time slot on the White Pass and Yukon Route RR. A tour bus pulls up across the road and the bus driver gets out an yells "Go Dawgs! Class of '93 baby!"
2. Back in 2014 I was in southern France for work and went to Paris for a long weekend. My co-worker and I were in the Louvre and we decided to go back topside to get some fresh air and sunlight for a while. I was also wearing my MSU hat then. As we were sitting there, two guys in suits along with two ladies in nice dresses walked by about 30 feet away. As they passed, one guy looked back and said "That looks like a Mississippi State hat". I stood and said "It is a Mississippi State hat". He came over and shook my hand and introduced himself. It was Eric Zacharias. Dr. Z's son. I think he told me that he was an eye surgeon in Denver.
ETA: Just remembered a 3rd. In 2004 I lived in San Diego. I went to a high school all-star football game with Coachnorm who posts on here sometimes. As we were sitting in the bleachers, I see this kid who was probably about 12 wearing an MSU shirt run by headed to the concession stand. I told Norm that I was going to stalk him to see where he was sitting so I followed him when he came back. He was there with his mother. After we got to talking, we realized that she had worked for my uncle in Brandon.
