I'd like to say these rankings will work themselves out but after Murphy had to go on the road in the playoffs last year when they had the second best team in 1A/1AA, I wouldn't count on it. Maxpreps rankings are more accurate than the adjusted rankings.
So true..they are more accurate but they are not politically correct!! Murphy traveling last year was a joke. However, for folks that may not know, the Adjusted Maxpreps Rankings are the only ones that matter when playoff time comes. The question is,WHO does the adjusting to the rankings? Someone with way to much power...that's who.
I'm surprised Mitchell isn't ranked higher in either, they deserve to be. I'd definitely have them top 3 personally but their strength of schedule is hurting their ranking.
It’s a big game but would have been better if we hadn’t lost 5 players from last year. Cats will play hard no matter what though. It is what it is !!
I could respect it more if you wasn’t constantly tooting you own horn. Fact of the matter is they switched some people around after you played them and got a new coach to call plays. They were completely out of sync against y’all and running around like chickens with no head half the time. Their stud receiver never had a chance because that QB was terrible, not so much the case anymore. I honestly feel like we were 3 tds better than them, but they made us work for that W.
From what I've read no one knows completely the Maxprep formula they do seem besides a teams record they're strength of schedule , you're rewarded for playing up in conference and can be hurt losing to a lower conference team , they don't consider a schools history and one goal was to do away margin of victory. According to MaxPreps thier rankings are done solely by mathematical formulas. There is no human subjectivity in the rankings then NCHSAA takes that and sends information to a San Francisco based companies computer system that sends them the adjusted rankings.
