I have no link, but I am wondering if anybody has any info. Preliminary information said he would go home and join the brother, but a Cock lover tells me she was told it is an MSU-vs-Alabama issue.

in football, it seems like he'd only have 1. Seems like it would be the same in baseball since he redshirted.

I know you have 5 total years of NCAA eligibility in all sports, so for instance, if he's played 3 years of football he'd have 2 of baseball left

Assuming he enrolls right now in the school he transfers to...

Spring 09 - sit out for baseball
Fall 09 - sit out for football
Spring '10 - play baseball
Fall 10 - play football (if he wanted)
Spring 10 - play baseball

He would then exhaust his eligibility.

It has been my understanding that once you enroll, you have five years to complete four years of eligibility, with the exception of a medical redshirt.

you start a particular sport. Otherwise, how in the world could Marcus Monk come back and play basketball for the Hogs 3 years removed from his football eligibility expiring.

...in an article that he would be eligible to play baseball immediately because he wasn't playing baseball at Carolina. I don't know if that's correct or not, though.

It's 5 to play 4 from the time you enroll in a college/university full-time. Monk graduated high school in 2004 and exhausted his football eligibility at Arkansas after the 2007 season.

He only had one year to play for the very reason you stated.

I think what is confusing everyone is all of these ex-minor league baseball players like Chris Weinke coming back and having four years to play.
