I don't want them in our regional. They are on a 9 game win streak and could end up being a dangerous 2 seed for somebody to play. In the past 2 years, we are 2-4 against the Buzzards.

They will still find a way to lose when it counts because they are Southern Miss, but I'd rather have another 2 seed.

I’m going to be honest with you; this is the least talented rotation we’ve had in some time. None of our weekend starters will be drafted and none of them can even top 88 with their fastball. Our Friday starter is pretty good, but isn’t overpowering and honestly would be a Sunday starter if we had better options. Our Saturday guy is a lefty with a busted up shoulder that’s trying to fight through injuries to end his career. And he wasn’t great to begin with (got hit hard by you guys in Feb. and Arkansas last season). Our Sunday starter is essentially our Ross Mitchell. Tops out at about 80 and will try and plus and minus to death. He’ll have some good showings against C-USA competition but not sold on him giving us good starts against top 25-35 teams.

It’s not impossible for us to win a regional whether we’re a 2 or 3 or if we’re in Starkville, Baton Rouge, or Atlanta. But we don’t have the horses we’ve had the past 2-3 years. Not to mention the WASM factor that you alluded to. It’d take some of our bullpen arms pitching over their heads and/or something weird happening (like a 4 over 1 upset) for us to get to a super.

Technically correct, but misleading. There were some extraordinary circumstances in 3 of those losses from 2018.

If there are three games in MSU baseball history that deserve asterisks it's definitely those.

Technically, you never had the horses.
