Thank god someone in turf management had some sense....
Cut the gimmicks and lets just play a damn football game. I'm all for being "innovative" but that' bordering on non sense

they're not painting the whole field white that was discussed in the meeting this week and turf crew said 17 no to that as well fwiw
Might as well ... the Bermuda will be dormant by that time too. But I suppose they use a rye grass overseed ....

I do thing solid white endzones with maroon lettering would be a nice touch for that game. But the whole field would be beyond overkill.
I hate uniform talk and everything related.
However, I think the white field would be cool as hell. Even BMTs grey looked pretty awesome. It looks too and draw positive attention. For reals.

White field would NOT be cool; all the players would end up with white chalk all over them. It'd be a monumental disaster.

And really- what's the big deal about that game? It was the freaking Independence Bowl for crying out loud. That game to me may not even be in my top ten as far as MSU wins. Basically that game marked the end of an era before we went into the crapper, so excuse me for not being sentimental towards it. OK- it snowed, it was cool because it snowed, but that's about the extent of it.

How many bowl games does ESPN still talk about over 10 years later? The game was significant because of the snow, the way the game ended, and the fact it was the last game of the 20th Century. I saw clips from it during ESPN's commercials promoting their coverage of bowl week last year.
Killing the grass shouldn't be an issue. Don't we have some type of grass that fully matures in under a week's time?

I would like to see some artificial snow on the bushes or even white turf. That game would be talked about for a long time WIN or LOSE. We would at least get a mention or two on ESPN, hell we hardly got talked about after our game with Auburn. Not sure if I saw a single highlight of the game.
Besides I'm pretty sure this isn't allowed (obvious exception for Boise), because the rules clearly state the lines have to be white in color. The NCAA isn't going to bend over backwards and do us any favors just because of our marketing ideas.
Our brand is growing under this athletic department. Stop being so stubborn to change.

I say we hire one or two of those fire tanker aircraft and during the flyover dump snow all over hell and gone. Then, a parachutist jumps from the trailing tanker, sails onto Scott Field and runs over and hits Slive (who we have invited to receive some bogus award) square in the *** with a snowball.

Awesome let's not stop there though. Let's build a snowmobile track in the middle and before the game we can host X-Games and we can fit a frozen half pipe in the junction and Shaun White and Red Bull can toss thousands of Red Bulls into the tailgates and we can all do a simultaneous JagerBomb shots setting the Guiness record for shots at the same time. During the half-time show we can invite the marine from Ole Miss and the Corpse of Cadets from aTm to a snowball fight with Bully dressed as a bad *** stormtrooper. Think outside the box guys.
