I'll take it. Hated to lose that first game, but our pitching did well at the Box, we played hard, and the young ones got some good experience. The hitting will only improve especially when we get some players back.

Home teams won their series, which you'd expect. Except ole miss, which is great. Vandy and sc have to be in shock now.

Random thought: wish his was the year we miss UK!

I love the way this team battles. I've got to tip my hat to Kendall Graveman too- when his sinker is on, he's going to get a ton of groundouts.

I think we will be fine, and our team will have a lot of confidence after this weekend. The 1-2 record doesn't tell the story of how we played and how our pitching staff performed. Also, we hit the ball fairly well, we just have to be more clutch with guys in scoring position. Can you imagine the type of run this team can go on if the bats come around? This is the type of pitching that can take you deep in a CWS if you can just get a little bit more hitting and some timely hitting at that.

I was starting to not believe in good starting pitchers after last year, but now 2 amazing pitching outings like that deserve a standing-O. Mighty sharp looking bullpen this year. Just hope Stratton keeps his head screwed on straight unlike last year.

...the board consensus was taking 1 game @LSU was what we needed, and expected.

But [expletives deleted], Caleb Reed is going to have to turn into a freakin' Goose Gossage for the rest of the season to make up for Friday night.

And Kentucky...WTF?

We play UK the last series of the regular season. As usual, we'll probably need to take 2 out of 3 from UK to make the SEC tournament.

Just our luck, the college baseball equivalent of the 1927 Yankees will be coming to town.

While I am very impressed with Kentucky I would jusy hold off on them until they lose a game or series and see how they respond. They have certainly got to be the most confident team in the league right now. There pitching this weekend was also alot better than usual.
