I thought that we looked good against a really really bad team.

I don't know that us beating the hell out of Memphis tells us very much.

Now if we beat Auburn, that will be a little different story.

LSU - feeling much better
UF - feeling a little better
Ole Miss - they will have mailed it in by that game
Houston - over under will be 100 for that game
UGA - they impressed me and I have dialed that prediction back
Bama - the only game still on the schedule where I am writing that one off.

Auburn - Feeling worse about this one. I don't think they will stop us but I am not sure if we will stop them either. Probably going to be a 42-38 or 38-31 type game.

Larry Porter had a terrible game plan for our team this year. It would have been great last year but not now and he never adjusted. That being said, our team did show us a few things:

1. We can actually throw a ball to people, this is new.
2. Our O-Line can hold and give the QB a little time. Memphis was selling out fr the run which should make giving the QB time harder but the line held well.
3. Our defense is pretty good. Mainly looking at the schemes. Last year I couldn't figure out what the hell we were doing. We were pressing on 3rd and 10 and then going zone on 3rd and 1. This year we seem to be at least playing the right defense for the right situation. We kept the ball in front of us on the long downs.

So, I feel about like this:

Auburn
- Unchanged. We will have to play very well to win this game.
LSU - Feeling a lot better. LSU is just not a great team.
UF - Unchanged. We will get killed in the swamp.
Ole Miss - Feeling a lot better. Ole Miss may collapse under this loss. Either way they weren't going to be a good team. Still, playing in Oxford is tough and will be a tossup.
Houston - No clue. I really no nothing about them.
UGA - Feel worse. This will be a tough, tough game.
Bama - Unchanged. I always felt we would lose this one.

Still hanging my hat on 6 and 6. 7 and 5 is possible but still a little sheepish in my opinion.

again. Our team and coach should be highly motivated to beat them. Given our lack of success against LSU since 1991 and against UGa over the years, I'd be delighted to beat either team. I do think we could play with either team. Beating Auburn is more important for our team (not just because it's first.) 6-7 wins = good year for MSU.

they scored 52 in the first half this weekend. The main key to that game will be to score first, and then hope they throw a pick or have a fumble and we play the rest of the game perfectly.

last year. And I still say the ONLY reason we lost that game was due to the bush league Conference of Unwanted Schools of America refs.

I will be extremely disappointed if we lose to them aGAIN.
