and not lose to ALL the Mississippi D-1 teams this year.** And the pitching looks like it has taken hump day off.**

Pitching has not been good tonight. Have given up 12 hits, 6 runs so far.

It's early, but man our hitting has me concerned. I know the season is young, but the guy Memphis is throwing tonight had an ERA well over 9 coming into tonight, and he's thrown 7 strong against us. This coming on the heels of a weekend where we scored 4 runs total in two games against Kansas and only scored 5 in the second game against Valley. Not a good start for the hitters.

and give up 1 run and that makes his ERA a 9. So this early in the season, a 9.0 ERA can be brought way way down by a good 5 inning outing.

But we struggled to hit against Valley pitching too so....what do I know.

one because our baserunner can't get out of the way of a batted ball and the other on a catcher's interference that forces in the winning run. We are definitely MState.

a coach thinking he has Grant Hogue on 2nd base, 1 run already home, with 0 out and runners at 1st and 2nd in a "supposed" (by the book) bunt situation. But instead of Grant Hogue, he had 6'6" 285 lb. Wes Rea at 2nd. Not exactly a prime bunting situation, that one. And then to try and correct the blunder of the bunter's leading the player fielding the ball to have an easy play at 3rd, he decides to try the old double steal that has worked so well for us over the past 3 years. Just an all around boob inning for The Head Ball Coach, that had started out so promising with the first 3 reaching safely and scoring a run (usually the makings of a possible big inning).

If stark(i think) puts that ball on the right side of the pitchers mound it would have moved both runners over with ease but instead he bunts it straight back the pitcher and that ball had some speed on it on top of that.
