So apparently we still aren't offering Scheussler yet...

even after the in home last night. We could be making a grave mistake, I'm concerned that Liggins is going to slow play us and then we end up without a QB at all. Heck, who knows, could be a Bear strategy for all I know. Given our less than stellar history of closing ability in January guess I can't help but get a little pessimistic on R Brown and Liggins at this point. Just would hate to see us lose out on guys like Scheussler, Jefferson, etc. because we wait too long and still end up also losing out on our top remaining targets. Oh well, I guess it will be what it will be.

I think Shuesslers visit to Arkansas was canceled so there is not much of a threat there. If we do offer him, he'll most likely commit. That would just about ruin what chances we may have with Liggins. There is a very high probabilty we don't end up taking another WR (Moore,Allen, or Redding) so we'd have one more spot assuming we take 4 more guys, which isn't a given. We could end with:

B. Brown
R. Brown/Best Available
AJ Jefferson/Best Available
Scheussler/Liggins

Looks like we have a couple more OL coming in that last weekend that might be late replacement guys if others fall through.

When is Liggins announcing? Do we have time to offer a scholarship to the QB in Georgia if Liggins goes elsewhere?

We will probably end up with B Brown and N Schuessler. I think that will be it. I have seen on a few sites, non-MSU sites mind you, that Richie is headed to Oxford.

He won't sign with MTSU until we tell him we don't have a scholarship for him. He'll hold up till that afternoon if he needs to.

about as unproductive as the past few in recruiting. While getting B Brown would be really good I think its been pretty set that he would come with us for quite a while. Given the dumpster fire their program has become, if UM takes Ward, Liggins and R Brown from us here in the final month then that will make kind of a sour ending to the recruiting season even though we would still have a very solid class. Would definitely be neat to have R Brown follow in the MSU tradition of the "Great White Hope" LB we've had over the years with guys like Daniel Boyd, Paul Lacoste and more recently with Chris White and Cam Lawrence. It does seem though lately if a high profile guy comes into the final month of recruiting uncommitted the odds of us getting him becomes very unfavorable.

you know sometimes people commit to coaches before it is public, just a hunch.

but talked to UM fan the other day that seemed to think were sitting ok on R. Brown. Basically that it didn't seem that he had made up his mind yet and not clear if he even had a strong favorite at this point. Wouldn't put any money on it, but I think there's a pretty decent chance the person I was talking to would know if there was a strong lean one way or the other, or at least if the coaches thought there was a strong lean.

R. Brown was supposedly down to LSU and State but didn't want to get lost in the crowd/shuffle at LSU. Since then UT has entered and there's a lot of UM talk, but none of it seems to be coming from R. Brown(that i've heard). what i have heard is that he wants to take advantage of visits and seeing places, which is part of the reason he hasn't come out with his decision yet. in the end, per some sources close to him, he's most likey to bea bulldog.</p>
