becoming equivalent to AAU in Basketball??

It just seems that these 7 on 7 tournaments are just a way to get kids on campus and opening up access for dirty coaches and dirty recruiting... a la AAU...

Just curious what everyone else's thoughts were on this, these tourneys are relatively new, and I get the positives of them but it seems like a lot of problems are sprouting up from these teams, coaches, and tournaments...

I don't think there's any doubt that they are. And the NCAA is beginning to try to get a handle on this. The conference that's on the leading edge in trying to reform the 7-on-7 teams is the SEC. They adopted rules that prohibit SEC schools from hosting 7-on-7 teams except for high school teams. The conference is going to try to get the NCAA to adopt the same rule.
