So are the days of sixpack and nafoom over?

I always viewed them as our brothers in a small sense. Both boards breaking away from the eggbowl/gp/spirit mentality. Both with similiar mindsets, both understanding each others humor, both spending a lot of time on each others boards. Sure we get pissed off from time to time, but damn, why can't we just step back and realize that the game is over and the temporary hate can subside.
Lets get back to normal and put all this petty **** behind us.

Both sides need to realize that we all have ego's and pride in our programs.

when State sucks and Ole Miss doesn't. Once we beat the ever-loving shat out of them, Rebel fans turn into psychopaths.

But you are absolutely right, whenever Ole Miss has a modicum of success, the since of entitlement they have begins to once again show it's ugly head.

Being a proud Mississippian (and living in the hell hole that is Birmingham), I can almost put aside the rivalry and hope for the best for another MS school with MS players making MS proud.

Then they start this ****, and it all goes out the window. #%+% 'em.

Nafoom loves us when we are bitching and cussing our coaches and administration.

The day since we hired Mullen and got a little excited, their attitude has steadily changed.

I can see why they would be pissed off right now, but because the nafoom fanbase is much more logical than the spirit group, I think it will turn around sooner than later.

Each side needs to give each other a break. We won the Egg Bowl trophy. We won the Connerly. They will win their Bowl Game.

Drop the hate.

about what was to be this year for them, sang about the beauty of Snead and their awesome landsharks and so forth and so on, when we won a few games and started talking possible bowl, immediately posts about "sunshine" and "wool" started popping up over there in reference to the sixpack.

No it won't. Unless we go back to what they think is our "proper place"

Or live far away from Mississippi. They are not going to change now that we have some momentum and excitement in our program. It will just get worse. They are psychotically obsessed with us when we start winning, and the Egg Bowl signaled to them that those days are coming. Anyone who knows anything about football can tell the momentum that we are building, and it scares the **** out of them, because in August, they (and Arrowdawg) thought they were on the brink of burying us 1950's style.

<div> this thread is just plain dumb and I thank HD6 for putting a few of them in their place. They lose 4 of 5 O-Line, McCluster, and Shay Hodge, and some other key players, but yet the majority of them "feel good about next year." Aced3 predicts 9-3. Wow. Everyone else gets worse, but them. Thank you to whoever started this thread and finally the person that had the sense enough to lock it.

excited about a tight end the next few years? Apparently Zach Mason is the second coming of Tony Gonzalez.

The Spirit crowd went nuts over Z Mason in recruiting saying there was no way he'd redshirt. He'd compete for the starting job immediately, etc. All of this was based on a highlight video where he was running over and around 2A football players in Tennessee.

Nevermind the fact that he was playing his first or second year of football that year, and he was playing against weak competition. The Spirit was pumped about it. Because of that, Z Mason took on a Chuck Norris meaning at Nafoom. We were and still do make fun of the Spirit for the hype put on that guy when he was obviously going to need a year or two to get ready for D-1 ball.

On the original topic, things will settle back into normalcy in a few weeks. Guys like Diamond and AceD will still run smack like they always do, but right now the tempers are still flaring for a lot of people over the game.

The previous two years weren't so bad because the first one led to the firing of Orgeron, and most of us saw that game as a favor, so we weren't bitter about the loss. Then last year led to Croom being Croomed, so the SixPackers weren't bitter about the loss. Once the tempers settle and bowl announcements come out, it'll settle back into normal discussions about basketball and the bowl games without the flames and gnashing of teeth.

That's good stuff. Wasn't he like the #2 TE in the country according to Rivals or Scout?

Ole Miss beats State at something in sports - nafoom posters are all over 6pack, with state fans eating crow

State beats Ole Miss at something in sports - nafoom admins ban 6pack posters and lock their threads with nafoom posters raging like 10 year olds

I think it was No. 2 on ESPN, but you are correct. I told some guy on the Spirit that I figured Mason was almost a guaranteed redshirt before the season, simply due to lack of football experience and the fact that we returned a senior TE and two redshirt freshmen that the coaches liked. He told me I was crazy and that Mason would definitely play and there was no way he'd redshirt.

And...Mason reported at about 270 and spent all of his redshirt year trying to get used to the college game. Honestly, I'm hoping we turn the guy into an offensive tackle. I've heard his body can probably hold the weight, and he's got good athleticism. I'd like to see him spend this year and next putting on weight to eventually play on the OL.

But in the meantime, we'll have to rely on him to play QB, LB, Safety, TB, and TE all at the same time while leading us to the national title. You guys just wish you had Z Mason. The only reason we didn't beat you by 50 this weekend is because Nutt had enough mercy to sit Mason on the sidelines. He wanted to make it a fair fight.

Did you take a knee to end the game.

When I saw us line up in the victory formation. I said, might as well go ahead and let Dixon get another TD. Because it doesn't matter if we win 41-27 or 48-27. Them bastards are going to be mad as hell either way.

Not only that, Z Mason finished fourth in the Conerly voting while redshirting.

I have no problem with you.

But 99% of the rest of your brethren were fine as long as they could come join the fun of us cussing LT , Croom, and State. Hell, I led the charge in cussing those bastards. They were incompetent to put it mildly.

But now that we are actually becoming hopeful at things State is doing, all of a sudden we are sheep.

Nafoom has been full of "What happened to the Six Pack? It used to be a great board" posts ever since Mullen was hired.

I never got into that **** of arguing the last few years because I had no hope to stand on. Hell, Ole Miss folks were right, we did suck. You can't defend the indefensible.

In the past what was I gonna say, " Croom is doing great and will turn it around?" I'm not a fooking idiot.

Now ,however, I won't take any **** off them. We don't suck just because we are State. We can be good. People at State now realize that and are doing whatever they can to make it happen. I ain't taking a backseat to y'alls' asses anymore.

I had to take that **** for 5 years because of that charlie foxtrot of an AD and coach.

Sorry, but I ain't taking it anymore. The field is level now. We are not fighting blind with one hand tied behind our back anymore.

Some of your folks don't like that too much.

Sorry, again, but I ain't cussing State any more right now. And I'm not gonna listen to any **** about how we still aren't at your level, not after pushing your team up and down the field at will.

I'll discourse civilly with anyone. But it's a two way street.

PS

you need to blog more. I enjoy reading it.
