So baseball is 5-10 midway through. Do you see us making the NCAA tourney?

I think we still have a chance, but there's no more margin for error. I'd put our chaces at about1 in 3 right now.

You're giving a better chance than Cohen has produced in SEC play while at State to this point. .333 versus .327.

Why don't you just step away until football season. We get it. You hate Stricklin, Ray, and Cohen. Guess what, they are our AD and coaches, either support or don't but there is literally nothing left of the horse for you to beat anymore.

for posters that have a tendency to overkill things from time to time. We have so few of those types of posts.

Maybe you could take a nap.

edited to add: Where do you get off with the "hate" ****? I have questions about Stricklin's ability to make solid hires. I question the Ray hire. But to say I hate them is just plain estrogen-filled ********. And long-timers here will easily recognize me as one of the earliest, staunchest Cohen supporters.

You have blatantly criticized the hire. You have unsubstantially bashed Stricklin for the hire, when we have no idea how it will turn out. Why do you question Stricklin's hiring capabilities? Who has he hired that has been a flop? I understand questioning the hire, but there is a difference in questioning and getting pissed about it. Who did you think we would be able to get? I mean our program is in shambles, and I trust his decision making on who can turn it around over any poster on this board. He is the one who actually talked to the candidates. For you to lose faith in Stricklin over this is a bit premature. Im sure you don't actually "hate" the man himself. In a few years your thoughts may be validated, but when the hire was made you acted like a baby and showed spite towards both Ray and Stricklin. Thats where my hate comment came from.<div>
</div><div>And about Cohen, every comment you make now is talking about how bad he is. The expectations for this baseball team and for him are unrealistic. People are complaining because we are losing series to LSU, South Carolina, and Arkansas. Those are top 10 teams in the nation and we were in every single game except for 1 at Arkansas. At some point a player has got to perform to help win a game. I realize Cohen recruits players, but how can you expect Cohen to get the best players in the nation with our program standing at this point? We are close, level-headed sports fans can see that, but when Cohen acknowledges that you criticize him.</div><div>
</div><div>And if you are going to keep throwing out his overall record in the SEC and his record at Kentucky was so bad, why in the world were you a huge supporter of his? Maybe because records don't show the whole story? </div><div>
</div><div>
</div><div>ETA: We have been outscored by a total of 8 runs in SEC play this year. Sounds like we are alot more competitive than the Cohen bashers make it seem.</div>

1 is already too much.

The **** being spewed about Striklin is just laughable. Hard to imagine you actually believe any of what you post.

..& nothing about this team suggests they possess the ability to sweep anybody.

So, no. I do not see this team making the NCAA tournament.

I disagree with your characterization of my questioning the Ray hire as "unsubstantially [bashing] Stricklin." You are just flat out wrong about that. I think the hire is questionable. I think the jury is out on Stricklin's ability to handle coaching searches. I assure you I'm not the only one who now questions Stricklin's ability to conduct a coaching search. Which is no doubt the driving influence behind the campaign to control the message here and on other boards. [/hi scott]. If you see that as bashing, then I can't help you there. We'll just have to agree to disagree.

You seem like you can be reasonable. Don't let this board mess with you. This is a playground for idle minds. It's not reality. It is a creative outlet. A place to act stupid and out of character from time to time. It should never, ever be a source from which you derive meaning or purpose. There is nothing genuinely real here. And that includes, at the end of the day, how you or I really feel about our alma mater.

is he may have found the next Roy Williams. Although that is unlikely, he may have gotten a coach that will do incredible things here, and people were very upset about the hire because it wasn't who they wanted. My point is that it is just far too early to be pissed off about it. No one really knows what Stricklin did with this search, and I for one am going to trust him because I've got no reason not too. He could be a genius, and it would just kinda bother me to see a lot of people that were very upset with him prematurely to come back and praise him. Some have gone as far as to say they wouldn't support the basketball program anymore because of this, and this is absurd. That's not you I know, but thats just people overreacting to something they don't know the details of. But I supposes its easier to denounce someone and then come back later and praise them than it is to support someone and then watch them be a bust. But like you said we have different mindsets on this and we will just have to agree to disagree.<div>
</div><div>I agree completely with your second paragraph and I'll admit I get suckered into that at times. Some people like Goat and Fish say things just to piss people off. </div>

out of what we have left. If it doesn't happen against TN at home then I can't see us sweeping anyone else.
