If Meyer is lying to save the embarrassment of having Nix turn him down, why did he specifically deny the rumor that had come out that he has essentially told the WR coach who left them to go to LSU? Is it somehow less embarrassing to have a coach leave for an equivalent role at another SEC school than to have a coach decide to stay in an equivalent role at another SEC school? Seems to me if he was going to lie about the one, he'd have at least been ambiguous about the other.
