He's been on their practice squad since last August.

Practice squads operate a lot differently than the 53 man roster. He makes minor league money and the year ends for him in December, which is why he began tweeting about Tupelo and being a car salesman around that time. Most if not all practice squad guys have a side job for 6 months of the year.

He was always going to report for mandatory training.

Jags need a lot of receiver help, so he's got a shot. The problem for him is they have a mainstay at his position... But nothing else.

Not bad at all. And they don't have to play taxes for away games. $100,000/yr is nothing to sneeze at, but compared to 53 man roster minimum it's 80% less.

Yeah that's a huge difference. Not to mention the punishment bump puts on his body for that 100,000.

Bingo. Practice squad is a deep hole to dig yourself out of.

Basically if he doesn't absolutely stun in this preseason I don't think he has a future in the NFL.

He's a great ambassador for our program. Intelligent player, well connected, very likable... Would love for him to get involved in Mississippi high school coaching or even college.
