So could Mitchell pitch the remaining of Game 1 and roll into Game 2...

30 minute break. About the same Fitts got between 1 and 2 last night.

that said, i don't think it happens.

You gotta hope that

someone else can finish game 1. People forget the Aggies are one of the best hitting teams in the SEC. Fitts performance was impressive. We gotta be careful. On the flip side, they have the worst staff in SEC play.

I think that is the way to go. Break won't be too long. A little short toss should keep his arm loose. As someone else said it can sometimes take 30 minutes for a team to bat. I wouldn't want to use Lindgren or Holder until we had to have them. Major boost for us if we can hold Lindgren until the 3rd game.

No, because if two balls get through the infield and somebody goes yard, it's arise game. What if we go 11 innings. I doubt Ross would throw 60 pitches and turn around and start game two.

I would try to finish it with Bracewell. We aren't to the point of needing to burn Lingo or Holder just yet.

Limited by 'whom'?

To how many innings he can pitch unless extra frames are involved

Zero, limit by SEC, NCAA or baseball in general that I know of.

I don't know 'nature's' or Cohen's limit on Mitchell. Some on here say he throws 'effortlessly.' Think he threw 140 or so in his last CG.

Not worth the risk in Mitchell's case but what if say Bracewell closed out Game 1 and was effective. We wouldn't do it but would it be worth considering letting him try to get through an inning or two of Game 2?

Polk I says yes too. Steve d'Ercole used to come in from his SS position to save game 1 of a 7-inning DH and start game 2, then play SS again for game 3 on Sun. And Brantley and Gene Morgan used to routinely pitch complete 7-inning games in a Sat DH, then split a Wed 9-inning game 5-4, and do it again the next week, and the next, etc.
