I'm about sick of hearing from this jackass. Just go away and shut your piehole, Crooms. 21-38. That's all that needs to be said. No damn excuses, no whining, no crying, you failed. Miserably. Be a man and move on.

He's a nice guy, but he is quick to shoot off at the mouth about ****. Also, he keeps complaining about how he had a "three year pass," but his best damn offense was his first year at state, so how could it not have improved since he inherited such a mess? Someone else's mess was apparantly better than his.

I have heard some reporters say that MSU was the "least popular" university in the SEC. How do you figure that? We have more freshmen attending MSU than Ole Miss and we had the first AA coach in the SEC. How could we be the 'least popular?" He won SEC head coach of the year and now everybody bitches about how could we have fired him b/c of that. We must have been somewhat popular.... bunch of pussys

a bit misleading, Oxford has really small corporate limits; most of the residential a areas are outside city limits. about the same size commercially.

but you are right, Croom really should STFU.

According to the US Census Bureau

Oktibbeha County Poluation 42,902
Lafayette County Population 38,744

Starkville is bigger and so is the surrounding area. Croom is wrong and so are you.

Now go back in your hole

anyone that heard him would think they couldn't drink alcohol in starkville. Of course, that's not true. And as usual, its some guy that's probably never been to starkville or he wouldn't have framed it that way.

i have typically chalked up the nice guy thing as true. most folks say they like him when they meet him. maybe he is just a very good salesman. he sells himself and his ideas and gets people to like him.

the problem is he then turns around and does a lot of things that are contrary to the perception that he has created. for some reason he still gets a pass for it even after five years of saying things like: he doesn't care what the fans have to say, throwing players under the bus and then saying elsewhere that only he can take the blame, and most recently saying that ADs are listening to the internet crowd too much. that internet crowd is beginning to be a significant portion of the fan base and will likely get bigger as the kids growing up with technology enter college. so yet again he has shown a propensity to hate the common fan for questioning him.

main point: croom isn't that nice of a fella. he just makes people think he is supernice to the point that he has no accountability for his actions.

Maybe Croom doesn't know Oxford exists? That's got to be it. It was not a stupid comment at all. Put the two things together: MSU never playing worth a **** at OM during his time + he believes Starkville is the smallest town in the SEC. It's not his fault.. He walked into an impossible situation, he had too many things to deal with in Starkville (including the tiny population) to have time to consider our biggest rival. Norwood and Pegues tried to teach him when we were playing at home, but with probation issues and golf cart safety he had no time.

/poor attempt, I know...I just couldn't resist.

He also said "it's hard to recruit because there ain't that much to do in Starkville"

Every time he opens his mouth he finds a way to make an excuse or bash Starkville. I have lived were for a while and have never been so bored that I couldn't find anything to do. Seems like his football players found plenty of things to do such as.... shooting at each other on campus, beating up security guards at Level III, hiding guns for their buddies, etc etc etc. I have always been pissed off when I go downtown and find that place is open and 1000 people virtually cut off every but of fun we try to have downtown. I wish they would shut that place down. The other day a guy got beat up for saying "vote McCain". It's on you tube so look at it.

Croom just needs to talk about his future and not bash the place that we all love.

give us property tax revenue.

Until I have that, I'll never know if Croom was right or wrong.

True, the county is "dry," in that you can't buy alcohol outside of the city limits, but all counties in MS are that way. It's state law. In MS, beer is a city vote, while whiskey is a county-wide vote. So if a county does not permit whiskey sales, then it is a dry county. Oktibbeha County does permit such sales, therefore it is not dry.</p>

wow, so we arent 12th in the SEC, we are 11th. boom, score one for you totally invalidating his point!
...oh wait, you didnt. his point remains, Starkville is F'n remote, rural, and small.
but hey, since he mistakenly called us last, instead of second to last, then his whole point must be invalid, right?

And you wonder why every other school's fans in the SEC think you're a bunch of douches?
