You claim you will be giving your tickets away because of the bad nonconference schedule, and how bad the team is going to be. Up until last year we usually played a pretty bad nonconference schedule. Did you also give those tickets away?

And we were going to be pretty bad next year even with Stansbury, so we're you planning on not going to those games as well? Just curious

After he made up the quote from Ray "didn't think we had a chance", he moves into the Peaches Pantheon of Lies on this board too. Hope those 2 never team up and agree on anything.

I also didn't attend as many SEC games because of the distance and the TV package but I always made sure someone was in my seat. Sold a few of them and gave the rest away. I find it funny that folks only think I was a Stansbury fan. I bought tickets all the way back to Kermit Davis and have had them since. I also know Stans played some easy preseason schedules but he also played some decent ones in 14 years. We played Xavier, Oklahoma, and some others. This years schedule other than the MAUI Classic I promise you will be a cupcake schedule. Can't say I blame them with what we have coming back but it is funny how folks like coach stayed on Stans' *** about the schedule and now it is okay to load it up with 200+RPI teams. I hope we win all our non conference games because I think anything over 5 in the league will be a miracle. We shall see.

Over the past several years, we had years we desperately needed just a few decent OOC wins to help us get into the tourney or get a decent seed, but we never had them, that was the gripe. This coming year, if we will be lucky to win 5 SEC games as you say, we will not be in the tourney. So why would want us to schedule a few more losses?

by scheduling ****** non-conference schedules to where he had to almost go undefeated to not hurt the tournament resume, when everybody knew we were going to have some head-scratcher losses. Stansbury should have scheduled as hard of a schedule as he could that made sense financially because most of his teams were capable of beating anybody but the top ten or twelve best coached teams.

Rick Ray pretty much can't cost himself a tournament bid because we're not going to be good next year. He needs a cup cake schedule to (hopefully) keep the record respectable while he tries to rebuild.

Getting on Coach Ray for a soft schedule is hilarious to begin with considering Stansbury's 14 years of scheduling.

Then, you mention us being in the Maui Classic- which is loaded with good basketball teams- so, that in itself- is better than any year Stansbury had.

And then when being called out on it, you mention Stansbury playing Oklahoma one year.

And sadly, I doubt you realize how stupid you sound typing all this junk. But it is HI-larious. Please dont stop. Tell us again about Ray cussing- maybe he needs to talk to Mullen and Cohen to learn how to deal with players in the proper way

Heck, I want Rick Ray to put together a schedule just like that. Find a way, any way, to get wins and keep dreams of an NIT berth alive along as possible. Heck, I wouldn't even turn down the CBI this coming season.

To him it's all about our "old coach" and how he had beefed up our OOC schedule last year.
But we all know that wasn't his idea, it came down from the AD.

this crap gets SO old. What possible good does it do AFTER a new coach comes in to NOT support him in the same way as the previous coach. I can understand voicing an opinion that you want a coach kept when decisions are being made BUT we have people in place at the University to make the final decisions on our coaches and once they make the decisions it is time to move on. I liked Stans and what he did for us during his tenure and freely admit I was very torn on whether or not it was time to make a change but now that its been made I'm behind Rick Ray 100%. Really does absolutely no good at this point, if you are truly an MSU fan, to do anything but that. I don't really think anyone can deny that under Stans our program had been on a slow downward slide for the last 5 or 6 years and that discipline within the program was waning. I still don't know that much about Ray but I have enough faith in Stricklin and Keenum to do a competent job to know they saw something promising in him.

Too many of our fans act like we're married to our coaches for better or worse. They need to look at it like we're dating them. As long as we're both having fun everything's great, but when one of us isn't having that much fun any more, it's time to move on. This analogy works better if you think of our softball or volleyball coaches, but it applies to all sports.

But I find it odd whenI mention some things I don't necessarily agree with that I am lambasted over and over and I have never said once I don't want coach Ray to succeed. Hell said:

once a coach is established - the schedule should pick up some in difficulty. In the beginning with how decimated the team is - it's all about wins so we need to schedule accordingly.

And no, you do not support this staff the way you did the previous staff. A least you act like that on these boards. A least give the guy a chance to fail before convincing yourself we are headed for the dark days of basketball again.

You and a lot of Stansbury's buddies are pissed off that a change was made and are acting like a bunch of children about it. And before you say that is what coach has been doing the last 14 years, it is also what you have been ridiculing him for for the last 14 years

In other words you have become dawgbreeze34

6, 7, 8, 9, 10- it's time to play some better teams OOC and try to uplift the program to a higher level. Stansbury never did that.

you're not off to just a real great start. Seriously, you're a lot worse than Coach34 ever was. At least Stans had a track record he could ***** about and in most of his bitching there was at least a little bit to criticize. He took it way too far a lot of the time, but he at least there was a little substance to it. Yours is just plain %%@*$%!+ over Stans being asked to resign.

And after enduring years of constant, non-stop, over-the-top, insanely-critical, nauseating bitching about Stans, some feel there is no limit to the amount of criticism one can levy here. And having facts or an actual point is purely optional.

Hell Dawgbreeze probably thinks if he keeps it up long enough, and pisses off enough people, he'll get his own internet radio show.

of Starkville, MS,especially easy enough to be able to go to a game on a Wednesday evening. At some point people like you will realize that the world does not revolve around a 150 mile radius of Mississippi State. Would you rather those of us who do move away for work to stop supporting the university? Because obviously you think that only "real fans" have season tickets and are the only ones who matter.

Am I supposed to just not answer and then have you clowns tell me I am afraid to answer. Check how many threads I have ever started about basketball and then compare it to the folks on here who act like juveniles. This is a message board and last I checked dawgstudent said he wants opinions. I have mine and some of you disagree. Who gives a **** patdog said:

you're just going to jump into basketball threads that anyone else starts and ***** about Ray. Seriously, you need to at least give the guy a chance. He's done everything he possibly could do so far, so there's nothing for you to base any criticism on. You know as well as I do that Hood had one foot out the door before he even set foot on campus. And we weren't going to sign Pollard. He never listed us as his leader and if he didn't sign with us in November, the odds were pretty slim that he was ever going to.</p>

I love how Stans has convinced all these followers witha splinter in their **** that the only way to recruit was for him to spend their money and buy AAU headcases that would ruin his program in 2-3 years of tumultous residency. Ray might...just might...take a slighly less profiled guy that still has offers from some majors, but have less "entitlement" attitude and coach them up to play defense and be solid contributors and citizens without having to worry about whether or not he owes them a paycheck if they leave.

Put your 17ing ego's aside for a moment and support the coach and see if he can make us a winner again on and off the court.
