I guess he didn't ask Chris Garrett how that worked out for him.
especially with everybody talking about how poor of a performance his senior season was. when it came right down to it, we dropped him to have room for a now or later signee.
the other reason i think this: of course he was going to say "God (or whomever/feeling) led him to Blank University." he's not going to say "MSU dropped me." that would embarrass the **** out of him and make everybody think he's not good enough.
Perfect example... Irvin-Sills. it was obvious we were holding out on him to see if we got the Alexanders. We didn't so we offered him a something he could commit to. he said "I talked to him (Coach) and thought about my decision for a few hours. Then I just felt like Mississippi State was my place to be at" as if he always had a committable offer from us.
Or maybe Mix is saying "straight cash homey" right about now.

Don't think we dropped him but if he had not been somewhat marginal I doubt we would have had coaches go off on him about visiting somewhere. Would have probably treated the situation a little more sensitively. And I really doubt Mix was worth doing anything too out of the way to get even if it was Auburn.
Believe it was as simple as Mix deciding he didn't want to play under Hevesy, end of story.
Who cares?
From all accounts someone on our coaching staff 17'd that up for us, so why should we give a **** what the kid says is the reason for him choosing Auburn over us.
Exactly. This 1 is On Hev no if,ands,or buts about it. I wouldnt give a **** if Mix said he went to Auburn for better fish stick variety at the grocery store. It's not relevant.
or thereabouts. I doubt they sign many guys that aren't good enough for us.

And was all Bulldog until our coaches pissed him off 2 weeks before signing day. I don't care what any of you say about him being soft, not worth a ****, or whatever. He is a HUGE young man and could develop into a great offensive lineman. We wanted him or we wouldn't have tried to get him back in the fold. He's a South Panola kid, he was one of our biggest recruiters during the whole process, and he wanted to be a Bulldog til then. Tell yourselves what you want, but we basically threw this one away. And it hurts not only because we lost the kid but lost an inroad to South Panola that Auburn now has on it's side with Melvin Smith to boot!

But because we screwed it up, now we have to sign about 4-5 o-linemen in our upcoming class which is probably going to be small. If he provided depth, even that would have been helpful.
I just thought it was funny that he threw the God reason out there.
If we did, we wouldn't have sent Townsend and Hevesy to try to talk him back into committing. I will say that Mix didn't have many options and is why he committed to State. He didn't have an Ole Miss offer as he tried to claim. The only reason Auburn offered him was because they were trying to sign a full class and he was a decent prospect.
