I'm surprised that he still is in charge right now. And on a side note, the Saban to Texas chatter can pretty much be put on hold seeing as Mack Brown looks like he could win 10 games this year.

As pathetic as I think Zook is I think he's right. Muschamp can be a championship caliber coach. I think it's going to take him taking a backseat role on offense though. Throw everything but the kitchen sink at a Cameron-type OC and promise the world to the top rated Florida high school QB or 2 and BOOM. Even the 3rd of 4th best option at every position of Florida recruits is better than anyone in the country has, easily enough for Miami, Florida, and Florida State to pick each other apart for an still compete at the level they are currently at.
If they fire Muschamp he'll just get another Florida-type job and probably do really well. The only game changer coach out there available for hire right now is Chip Kelly, and I fully expect him to be at Texas next year.

I don't know. I don't think it will work at Florida at this point. Right off the bat he wanted to run an offense that's not right for Florida athletes. The big three have all won a lot of games based on speed not power. Still shows he can build great defenses but that was pretty amateur to go against your base of recruits and what they are good at. I agree at a different school or if he does a 180 there he can have success.
Petrino and Saban......... Elite coaches that rode their NCAA coat tales to NFL jobs. Kelly has no former experience compared to those two... so yes, I expect some team to offer a lot to him when he can accept it. RGIII will eventually own that division and Big D will try to match... leaving Philly to try to get the 3rd spot.
I don't think Florida is stupid, and I think they'll list every reason to give Muschamp another season while perhaps believing it actually could work in the meanwhile. Like I said, Muschamp is an elite coach. If he can figure out he needs a head-coach-style-OC he can make it happen. I know that he's trying to run a Stanford offense and that Florida is the best in the country at speed athletes he can also grab elite 6'1'' 230'' RB's from somewhere else too... it's Florida. Imagine Stanford's offense with BETTER athletes... scary.
That's wishful thinking on my part, and when he gets fired in December he'll build a juggernaut at some school like GT (who knows where... he'll eventually end up at UGA).

I think he's a GOOD coach, but a young one. I think he has the ability to be a more hands-on version of Les Miles if he can add some decent offensive coaches. His defenses are top notch and he gets those kids to come to Florida, and if he had a half decent offense he would be a top 20 team right now.
Before anyone jumps on me and says something like Dan was a great assistant too, MSU's offense hasn't been anything special under Mullen and no star offense players come here. If that was the case there wouldn't be any fire talk.
