Says here you have Auburn on one hand with unlimited resources and you have poor ole Greg Byrne over there at State with $15 to work with.

/Loosely quoted.

Well if we end up hiring Graham I will have to agree with him that we couldn't get someone big. We would be either settling or just stupid.

Listening to the radio in Mobile, I'm hearing the same damn names for AU that I've been hearing for MSU. Leach is the only exception. When all is said and done, I really think we may end up with a coach who is comparable to AU and we'll probably pay a lot less for him.

The fact is AU is looking for someone who has the name recognition of Saban and will outwork him in recruiting. Right now the only guys with that kind of reputation are already in pretty good places and probably aren't leaving.

running around doing all kinds of crazy **** like they did in new orleans during katrina, that bastard better head to the highest mountain top in tenn. and hide because he is probably at the top of many people's "need to be whacked" list.

to have an auburn slant.
i think you're spot on with getting someone who wanted to go to auburn but got overflown by a bigger name. then they may bave to "settle" for the MSU job... instant mini-rivalry for said coach...

The fact is, just the fact that he fired Tubby makes him an idiot.

I hope their football program doesn't win a game for the next 10 years.

Leach
Patterson
Kelly
Graham
Dooley

I feel like I saw most of that list somewhere before. AU has pinned their hopes on Leach, but I still don't see him leaving Texas Tech.

they both coach a system.
the franklin system was a complete train wreck for the aubie's b/c they didnt let franklin bring in coaches that already knew his scheme. the au coaches saw him as a threat to their job security and probably bucked him whenever they could (they'd been there for around a decade).
the system worked for troy b/c they werent playing against SEC caliber defenses. and they had recruited to the system. au went from a semi-WC/power rushing offense to an outright spread, and it crashed and burned.
franklin or leach would need a few years to get athletes into their respective programs for them to work...

I doubt Finebaum will be gone anytime soon.. He has been on BHM radio for at least 20 years and only seem to be getting bigger and bigger...

his columns in the mobile press usually are fairly enjoyable, though...

He has no perspective on what is happening at MSU, and it is not in his interest - 95% of his audience only cares about Auburn and Alabama. He is very arrogant. I'm suprised he even recognizes MSU is looking for a coach.

Wait and see what he says if we land a better coach.</p>
