So how about Vanderbilt?

Wins over Tennessee, Georgia, and Ole Miss.

Of course, those teams didn't play up to expectations this season.

But still, winning on the road at Georgia and beating down Ole Miss are impressive.

Holding that Tennessee offense to 3 points in the second half also impressive.

Props to Derek Mason and the Commodores.

The thing you have to realize about Vandy is they were really close to having a VERY special year. They get their 6 wins but...

UF, UK, USCJR, Auburn all went down to the wire with Vandy losing by only 7 or less in each and losing to Missouri by 9.

GT, who smoked them, was the only team to beat them this year by more than 9 pts.

In summary, Vandy is going to be a pain in the *** for the near future.

@Robcatt24 has been around a long time. He is a solid BBN fan.
I give zero *****. Hes spent the ENTIRE season poo-pooing this team, staff, players and admin then gets to put on a happy face when we finally turn the corner.

I'm not giving him an inch. Not fair that those of us who have been behind this program from day 1 under Stoops have to share this win with the likes of OP.

Many fans were not happy with the way this season started and a lot of fans who have been around a long time had the right to be leery.

This has been one of the greatest season turnarounds after losing a starting QB in UK history, not many expected this.

I am sorry you think things are not fair, half of the country feels this way nowadays.

Excellent year for Vandy. Those are three "name wins" for them. Much like UK, they have to be thinking that they were THIS CLOSE to an 8-9 win year.

You ever think that the reason why he was just disgruntled and vocal was because he was a passionate fan of U.K. Football? Nobody predicted that win yesterday.

So was I. I just chose not to attack our own FB coach and 18-24-y/o players.

I just find it a tad flaky to go from full-bore psycho vocal minority against own team to "I was wrong and Vandy is great" in one week. Be proud, I guess?

Just don't worry about it too much. Remember this is a message board.

Vocal minority huh? Is that why the stadium has been quarter full at best, that vocal minority not showing up?

People did predict a win. There are multiple threads on here to prove that.

At any rate, predicting a loss isn't what made people mad. It's that a certain segment of fans go out of their way to take it way over the top.

KY "fans" insisted we had no chance at all. Bobby was going to run up a 100 pts on us. The "real football coach" was going to take Stoops to the woodshed....we might as well not even get off the bus, etc.

I get it when it comes from opposing fans, but not from our own fans against our own team.

I haven't gone back to check, and I'm sure he's deleted it by now, but OP was in the game thread running UK defense into the ground on the first drive of the game, lol. First PAGE of the game thread.

Alas, after the game, all is forgiven as egos have finally been appeased.

That's a nifty trick.

Not picking a win against a top-15 team/rival... AT their house... and completely trashing your own team for a full season are two, completely, different things.

I'm sorry you can't grasp this basic concept.

You are all in the in-crowd today, though, right? You really showed them. Thanks.
I've been a UK football fan for 4 decades, so yeah it was a sweet victory and will be awesome to still get to watch them play into December for a change. I'm also very glad inept coaching didn't result in defeat being snatched from the jaws of victory once again. It also makes me a little angry to realize that if in the previous two seasons HCMS had been in fear of losing his job enough to send his incompetent boyfriend to the skybox, they would've been as successful as this year, if not more. Mitch made sure he had nice and comfy job security the first 3 seasons though, so we will never know. Year one would've still sucked because of the smoking wreckage left by your other hero, Joe Phillips.

Again, no one cares if someone picked against us. UKEric picked UL and he's as respected as anyone around here. I don't think I posted an actual score prediction here, but I picked Louisville.

What people have an issue with is "fans" who were insisting that, not only where we going to lose, we didn't even belong on the same field with them.

Well I agree. While I thought Louisville would win I did think it wouldn't be an utter destruction.

Those are solid wins.

If we would have beaten one of UT or GA our season is taken to the next level.

We need to overcome the mystic thought that we cannot win vs these two, add Florida to that list.

Hopefully we break through that glass ceiling next year and bust one of them.
With who we have returning next year, I like our chances vs Fla. & UT!!!

I'm glad we beat them and State. You gotta beat Vandy and the Mississippi's schools every year to be a bowl team. 100% fact.

You deserve your own misery. We apologize that UKFB will never meet your standards.

They now have one of the best football coaches in the SEC. The annual UK - Vandy game will be very competitive and we will have to earn any win we get.

Let's pump the breaks on "one of the best football coaches in the SEC" lol.

I agree though that @ vandy next year will be a war. A lot of people on here are assuming that we are going to win those games against Vandy, MSU and SC next year. I got news for our fans, they are on the road next year, all 3, and we had 3 wars against them at home this year. So expect 3 wars next year with at least 1 loss of the 3 IMO.
