So how does a sweep effect our hosting chances?

It won't hurt as bad as you think by the numbers, however, we need to win the next three series, which can be done. Just need to put this behind us and take care of a bama team next weekend at home. We are better than them.
We need to be at least 16-14, maybe 17-13.

I'm not so sure. All 3 of our final 3 opponents have a better sec record than us. I hope we win all 3, but I'm skeptical
Yup. We gotta put this behind us and focus on Bama. A sweep is a legitimate result next weekend and we'd be right on track if we answer a sweep with a sweep.

Well, we don't need South Car to beat LSU - that's for sure. Don't need NC State to knock off UNC today either, although I think NC State is pretty much a lock to host baring a collapse.

That's true, but we played like absolute **** this weekend. Didn't pitch, didn't field and didn't hit. If we continue to play like we did this weekend, we won't win any more series. We still have yet to win a series from a "good" team.
USC is about to take a road series at lsu. We've only won 1 good series. We may have played good opponents but we loss them all
Our only sweep is aTm. Alabama is about to sweep aTm too. They also swept auburn. We should win that series, but we better play well
USC will be the 4th host spot after this weekend. We still have a chance, but it's theirs to lose now
I see us as a 2 seed at Indiana. MSU isn't good enough against good teams and quality SEC pitching to beat any of the teams in front of us for a host spot. And frankly, not having hardly "any" success against the SEC best, MSU doesn't deserve to host. They have 3 series left, but I think State has to get to 40 wins now to host. 40 wins with 10 left to play....not very likely.
Not if we take 2-3 in Starkville. You are just itching to jump off a damn bridge aren't you? Vandy is the most complete college team I've EVER seen take the field. We had nothing to lose this weekend. WE. WILL. BE. FINE. Lets focus on beating a bama team at home next weekend we can beat.

It's just as much ours to lose as it is theirs. If they can beat LSU today, they might have an edge, but I don't think they do. They've also had some bad losses that we don't have. It's between us, UK, and USCe and we all have about as equal a shot at it as the next
Florida still in it too. USC has vandy next week. Win or lose, their rpi is going to climb. If they win that series after winning lsu series, they will host. The sec has had 3 hosts the last 2 years.
No I get your point. This series has actually helped our rpi. What's killing us is USC winning series at lsu. They've jumped us

I agree but we have to hit situationally better. I think we get it done, but we ratcheted up the pressure on us by getting swept.

And Central ark, Kentucky, and Arkansas. We had great chances to win all those series, but mental errors and situational hitting cost us
Central Arkansas is looking like a bad series loss now. If we don't get to 40 wins, or at least 39 with a 6-3 SEC slate the rest of the way, our host hopes are "effectively" highly affected.
