Exactly! There is no spinning this. How can Stops condemn the guy for doing something he himself tried to do.
I seriously doubt they paid him more than we did.Imo they need to say nothing. There is nothing to say.
Optics aren't quite as bad if we find out they paid him crazy money. If they didn't, thats another story.
Guys I’m really not upset at all about this. I think the bloom came off his rose w white back and it was time for him to move on. He had clearly lost his mojo and fire and with the landscape of his recruiting changing the importance of his position had changed too. Add in that he wasn’t the greatest position coach either and it all fine with me.Marrow is a rat...
Yeah but that’s about it though. Substance wise it’s not that big a lossThe optics on this is horrible to put it kindly.
That may be part of this too, no question the relationship between he and Stoops didn’t seem to be the same after thatThere is no spinning this. How can Stops condemn the guy for doing something he himself tried to do.
If Stoops isn't going to condemn him I will. The scumbag went to Louisville. My only real thoughts or memories of him will just be that he was the filthy turd that went to U6.There is no spinning this. How can Stops condemn the guy for doing something he himself tried to do.
Just hope his Ohio recruiting ties doesn’t bite us in the rear.Guys I’m really not upset at all about this. I think the bloom came off his rose w white back and it was time for him to move on. Rally don’t think he’s all that equipped to be in a GM position, he’ll be okay but nothing great. I’ll predict his honeymoon will not last that long up there.
Think part of him leaving was he was tired of fighting the battle and grind of SEC recruiting too so looking for a fresh and easier gig
Put it this way, UL is going to over pay for a commodity that is not what it used to be and for a new position he’s unproven for.

- By creating a general manager position, they were able to finesse buyout language in his contract at Kentucky, opening the door for the move to finally become a reality.
Mitch B. folks.
It is a big loss. Argue if he's a top 10 recruiter or top 30. But he's a good one. Our recruiting is not going to improve with him gone. Not at this point in the year. I think Stoops is gone. Would be nice to have some good players coming in next year so new guy isn't starting from complete scratch.Yeah but that’s about it though. Substance wise it’s not that big a loss
Literally just got a commit. It is a big loss. Argue if he's a top 10 recruiter or top 30. But he's a good one. Our recruiting is not going to improve with him gone. Not at this point in the year. Also, I still wanted to root for this years team to win games. Players like Vince. I don't think he could rally players to win 7 games next year. But I don't trust anyone left to keep this team from rolling over after that Ole Miss game.

If you weren't a dumbass, you could use your fingers and look up his rankings and offers. Has a bunch of SEC offersanother one star with Sun Belt offers!
So excited
Honestly, where else was he gonna go?? No SEC schools are after him. At one time MSU wanted him but that came and went. No B1G schools were after him, now. He knew his time at UK ending. Of course UL thinks they got the best recruiter in the country. If Stoops isn't going to condemn him I will. The scumbag went to Louisville. My only real thoughts or memories of him will just be that he was the filthy turd that went to U6.

He was never here to coach the tight ends man. He was here to recruit and he did it very well. Anyone saying this is no big deal is doing some serious mental gymnastics to downplay what happenedhe needed to go. He got too fat and lazy. He is a bad position coach. Hire CJ Conrad and move on. Next Stoops needs to retire and get out of town.
No that’s a good point and I addressed it in another thread. I think it will affect us some and help UL some but not as much as we may fear because although Vince clearly has contacts there, he had the SEC to help him here and won’t there.Just hope his Ohio recruiting ties doesn’t bite us in the rear.
No question the timing is tough and that will be a hit just for that alone. And no question Vince was a good recruiter but and did some great things here. But I was speaking more to the big picture long term affect of losing him and I don’t think it’s near as big a deal as many folks first reaction will be.It is a big loss.
