...the management of the sound coming OUT of the sound system is highly suspect. Some observations, none in order of "importance":
1. On 3rd downs, let's refrain from using AC/DC's "Hells Bells." Just about every high school/academy in Mississippi seems to do this.
2. Why does music have to be played (read: blared -- see #4 below) after almost EVERY play? Why even have a band present?
3. Re: #2 -- The band and the Sound System are playing at the same time. For some reason, coordinating this seems unmanageable at present.
4. So far the Sound System seems to be treated like a new guitar amp: We've managed to turn up all the knobs to "11."
5. Variety in music is a great thing, but it's taken to an extreme. In consecutive sound bites, I seem to recall the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Kenny Loggins, Soulja Boy, and music from the big band era. This seems more like schizophrenia than variety.
Granted, the clarity is much better, and sounds mothing like the old system where we should expect Flick to say "That is all" at the end of every play. However, we seem to have found ourselves with a new toy and, hopefully over time, the event/PR staff will create a better presentation and promote the atmosphere of a football game.
