So I decided to do yardwork today...

Cut the grass, cleaned out the garage, etc. No TV, no radio. Someone even offered me a free ticket to the game this weekend and I declined. To do yardwork!!! From all accounts I made a wise decision. What a shame it has taken this long to get me to this point, but I am really not even pissed anymore at our football team. I just chose not to waste a day traveling to the game, watching our team screw up for 3 1/2 hours, getting pissed, and traveling back home. It was a lot more productive this way.

"You can't hurt us if we don't care" has got to be the most appropriate saying ever for M-State fans. The sooner you all just let it go, the better.

I am too lazy to email Greg Byrne, but if they actually read this board, I am sure that there are countless other State fans like me that have been lost on Saturday afternoons this year to the suburban duties. It's a shame, really, but I can honestly say I don't feel guilty anymore.

a free place to stay, and a guaranteed tailgate spot. I passed, and I am so happy.

Took a 6 hour business etiquette course that got out at 3:30, went home, went to confession, got some dinner at the grocery store, and got back home around 6pm. It took SPS loading up in a tab in firefox to remind me of the game we had today. Boy did looking at the score on yahoo (A Carlson missed PAT) ruin my day.

Really inexcusable. But Carlson's missed FGs this season remind me of Marlin's misses in 2001. Worst kicker in MSU history, and that includes McAdams and Carlson.

I could have probably begged out of it due to the fact I have yet to watch a game this year. I am so glad I didn't waste the money on tickets this year. I have yet to decide if I will go to Arkansas. I really don't know if I want to waste the day and money to drive up there and watch us lose yet again.

Thanks Croom

back to my house to watch UGA/UF instead of going to the game. I had friends telling me I should buy a ticket and go to the game. When I called them afterwards to ask what they thought, not a damn one of them answered the phone.

I repeat, I was 10 yards from the gates and walked home. Screw that fat ***.

...that I am probably the only MSU football "fan" (if you can still call me that) on this board who actually still has no idea whether this game was on TV today or not. I don't even know what TIME the damn game started. I just didn't go to the trouble to look, because I just don't care anymore.

I care more about my college fantasy team. It's probably the only reason why I care about what happens with football on Saturday.

The only thing about us losing that really affects me are the pictures saddawg will put up this week. I don't want to know what disturbing pic he's going to put up.

I'm loving college football even more. Since we are never on TV, I can watch real games and don't have to really give a **** what goes on with MSU. The only downer is seeing all the teams around the nation lighting up the scoreboards while we struggle to score 14 every week. And even worse is reading comments from our sheep fans calling offenses at places like Texas Tech and Kansas "gimmicks".

what a waste of a beautiful afternoon. I could have taken my dog on a nice hike today and got some much needed exercise. Instead, I stay home and watch this crap. Oh well, time for another beer.

I guess I'm just a slow learner because I did go today. This is the last time I go to a game as long as Croom is coach, though. The way we were outcoached in the third quarter blew my mind. The way we went for it on 4th and 1 and ran it up the middle in the most slow-developing play I can remember seeing in college football. The way we have one of the worst kickers ever. The way that kicker missed an easy field goal to go ahead. The way that kicker has been our main kicker now for 3-4 years. The way we burn two timeouts for no apparent reason in a close game. The way we kick a kickoff out of bounds coming out of halftime. The way our coach worries about "chess strategy" instead of trying to score a damn touchdown. The way we bench a player having a great game. Etc., etc., etc., etc.

I just cannot take it anymore. I'm done. See y'all after next season.

until Croom is gone. Period. I've stuck with it so far and don't see any reason to change whatsoever.

drove a couple of hours to my place to hunt pheasant. never knew when the game was until i got some texts from a friend. never looked at them. threw the phone in the truck. never looked on the way home for two hours. didn't know until i logged on to SPS.

i didn't realize the luxury that moving far from starkville would afford me this fall. thank you 750 miles of distance...thank you.

We lost in the Central Texas Semi Finals but had a great season and have missed just about all of the MSU games, including today up until the FG miss....got home just in time to see that. Thankfully, Alex missed that but we watched the Texas-TTech game together with about 30 friends down the road. We had a blast. The only sad thing for me is that even though he and I still are Dawgs, it took that fourth quarter of a Longhorns game to finally hook him on college football.

They took us out to eat for lunch, then we went swimming in the hotel pool. Then dad and stepmom took Swandawg69 and out to Shapleys, where dad shared stories about John McCain (they were both in VT-7 at NAS Meridian in the mid-'60's before McCain went to Vietnam). Said McCain was a 3rd generation ring-knocker (3rd generation to go through the Naval Academy for you civilian 17's), but would put in his full 3 trainer flights a day, 6 days a week, and was a very good instructor, so he didn't try to pull any of the "don't you know who my diddy is?" ********.

Later we came back to the hotel and watched Texas and Texas Tech. Gee, Mike Leach's offense is too gimmicky and couldn't beat a top-ranked team, eh?

and made it to Starkville in time to grab a bite and head over to the exhibition game. Now that was time well spent. Felt wierd seeing MSU control a game for a change.

missed the opening day of the 3rd elk season, got my yard work done early, and watched the fiasco on ESPN game plan with Tim Couch and Matt Wyatt doing commentary. Took off maroon vest at halftime, and emailed GB after the game. To think, we actually considered moving back to MS after 2007 season because we thought we were on the verge of having something wonderful happen at MSU.
