<p style="margin-right: 0px;" dir="ltr">I didn't get to watch the game and judging from all I read on here, i expected to be pissed off the whole time. That wasn't the case - but here are some of my observations:

1) Let's start here - other than the fact I would have given Deville a few more minutes and our horrible defense the last possession, Stans actually coached a pretty good game. Coming out of timeouts we generally ran a good set offensive play and got a good look.

2) We had too many turnovers - most of them concentration issues but we got good looks on 41 of 63 possesions in regulation by my count, which is pretty strong for this team. And then in OT we didn't have a bad shot attempt until the Sidney 3 he actually hit. We missed a good amount of very makeable baskets.

3) LSU ran the same play their last two possession. One time he beat sidney, the other time he beat Lewis. But both times Dee played the screen awful. Regardless of Stans not pointing it out, your senior PG shoudn't get beat on the same play in the same way twice.

4) Sidney continues to be as much of a liability defensively as he's a benefit offensively.

5) Much has been made of the blown 17 point lead so i was expecting to be in meltdown mode. In reality i was only pissed at the last possesion of the 1st half. You HAVE to make sure you go in up at least 10 there. To me that was a HUGE turning point in the game. The 17 point lead was cut to 12 in two possesions so I really looked at it as a 10-12 point lead we blew. Moultrie also took a terrible 3 pt attempt at 1:10 with 15 seconds left on the clock.

6) The other big mistake to me was when we got up 46-39 midway throught the 2nd half. We then had a turnover flurry and let them tie it at 50. That's where we had the chance to deliver the knockout blow and we didn't do it.

7) I watched it 20 times and I still think the charge call on Moultrie was a bad call. It was a nice defensive play and he sold it well - home team got the call. But made we think - has our team taken a charge all year??? I honestly don't think I've seen us take one.

8) We started the game with a good offensive gameplan, but that's been a trend lately. I have to give some props to Stans for this. But as the game wore on we started not working as hard to get into the lane. Bost started settling for more 3's and was more passive in general.

9) Hood keeps starting hot and then disappearing for 20 minutes at a time. We have to find a way to keep him more consistently involved - maybe he needs some more rest in the 1st to be fresher for 2nd halfs.

10) Defense was slightly better for the most part, but LSU was also taking terrible shots for a large portion of the game.

In the end we have to find more defensive effort which means Stans has to get the starters 3 more min of rest a game in return. Having Deville back should help that with the guards. I also think we should go small at times and let Hood play the 4. We do well when we run.

With the pick and roll defense we have to pick our poison and i'd just make them shoot 20 foot jump shot - we have to keep the guards out of the lane at all cost. If the opponent proves they are hot from outside them maybe adjust.

of their presence in the paint. I hope to see us use zone and really key on Gabriel and keep their guards from penetrating on the high ball screen. Dee has got to do a better job playing those because once teams can get in the paint on you, it's over. We've really struggled there lately and it's a double edge sword because teams gain confidence when they can do what they want against you. Shots start falling and defensively we start fouling.
