the campus master plan for athletics. Here they are
  • Bulldog Club Reception Center
  • Athletic Education classrooms constructed in new floors under the stadium west grandstands
  • North endzone infill at Davis Wade Stadium (12,000 seats)
  • South Lawn, located in front of the Seal M-Club Center
  • Indoor baseball practice facilities and coaches office facility adjacent to Polk-DeMent Stadium at Dudy Noble Field
  • Indoor football practice facility, training facility and coaches' offices
  • 20,000 seat coliseum including classrooms, conference center, retail facilities, a 1,000 car parking garage and a new chiller plant
The north endzone, coliseum and the Bulldog Club Reception Center are the only ones so far that have not been satisfied. (Not sure what the Bulldog Club Reception Center might be). In addition to bids soon to be taken for BPF and also the construction of the football jumbotron.

So, my first question is. Are we moving ahead of schedule or just merely knocking out the small stuff first? Second, what else might jump in front of the remaining items?

of doing the things that are most necessary at this point in time which also happen to be the smaller projects.

The things that were realistic have been done..
we are now done with that plan, and thus why the new master plan will start being worked on over the next year very soon.

according to Byrne in an interview with Gene.

Excerpts:

<span class="storybody">What needs does Mississippi State have facility-wise?
"We have tremendous needs on the facility side. You can go from the golf course to volleyball. Everyone of the sports has serious needs and issues.</span>

<span class="storybody">So, you see nothing being done to the baseball stadium for at least two years?
"Probably not, but we have to start the process now. We are hiring a company that is going to do a market research study of Davis Wade, Dudy Noble and the Hump to see what our market place can support in (regard to) high-end seating, skyboxes ... those type things."</span></p>

<span class="storybody">Are there going to be any modifications with the universities campus master plan?
"We are working with the university. They are about ready to hire an architectural firm to work on the master plan, which athletics will be a part of. It will be a brand new master plan for the university. It will be more than a year before it's complete."</span></p> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table>

and then Keenum took over and got the crazy idea that maybe everything on campus should be planned out together.

thank god that Byrne and Keenum are now in charge. The campus is getting better but there is a long way to go in order to make all buildings on campus have some uniformity. I think that is a reasonable plan for the next 20 or so years. Look at Florida State and LSU for good examples of that. It's reasonable to say that we could do this with good planning and leadership. (which we finally have)
