several YOUNG big money donors step up to the table in the last three years (since LT's departure). As one of them told me, "we will never lose a coach because of money again". We may lose him for other reasons, but not money. I'm sure this translates to the assts too, but this is where Stricklin comes in. We need to pick our battles and pay up to the assts we really want to keep, and I'd say Wilson is one of them. But then again, he may want to go to TAMU because of Sumlin and no reasonable amount of money will change his mind.

Defense has been State's calling card for the 30s I have watched them.
Jackie had the right formula to compete at State.......play defense, play conservative on offense. Mullen needs to remember that and continue his run spread. Mullen's brand ofoffense is better than Jackie's and it fits the talent he will continue to get out of MS.If he can keep getting defensive talent,Mullen will be more successful than Jackie was vs. a much tougher SEC.

and I was also very pissed at the end of that USCegame when the entire stadium knew we were about to be scored on when Jeffrey was 1 on 1 with Broomfield on the outside. It was intense moment and wouldn't be the 5,000th time I've seen a HC crawl an assisstant's *** on tv. I doubt Mullen was thinking about tv cameras on him as much as how we had just lost the game. Mullen and Wilson get along well. You make the statement he talked to him like a teenager, but you have no idea what he was saying to him, just that he was mad as hell. I assume the next 2 will be Texas and Notre Dame. But I still dont think he'll go. Could change if our fanbase gets all "cuttcliffillian" though.
