I'm reading weight rooms, training rooms, dressing rooms and coaches' offices. So I understand the football practice fields will also be upgraded but when an indoor practice is needed will that still be held in the Palmeiro Center?

That's what it's there for. Why wouldn't it?

Dan wanted this facility from Day 1 at MSU, and if we want to invest in the program and keep him around, we buildfacilitieslike this.

Didn't we just build new lockerooms, weightroom, meeting rooms, and training/rehab areas in the Holliman Center in 2005? I assume the Holliman and Shira will still be in use but for other sports?

I thought the new football facility was going to included a dedicated indoor facility for football, but guess not. I know Dan hates practicing indoors

that being that it would include a practice area but apparently it does not. I guess football and baseball will continue to share the Palmeiro center when needed and of course basketball will now have their own dedicated practice facility.

The big thing is that it puts the players and coaches under the same roof.

The facility consolidates resources under one roof so that the players don't have to run around from building to building. It also provides an instant upgrade to all the other sports on campus by freeing up the existing facilities.

The IPF thing is really a non-issue. We rarely use the existing IPF we have, as Dan like to practice outside unless it is lightning. The extra 5 million in the 20-25 estimate will go to upgrading the outdoor practice fields where we spend 95% of our practice time anyway.

Ole Miss likes to make a big deal about their IPF, but the practice field itself really isn't that different. The difference is that they already have the consolidated offices, lockers, etc. as part of the facility.

Not having a football only building is also a competitive disadvantage in recruiting. Having facilities on par the the rest of the SEC takes us a step further. The stadium is next, but it has to pay for itself.

Its seems as if this new Seal Building is a "do-over" from Larry's wise planning of having the coach's office in the Bryan Building near some lake, the locker rooms down the street in Shira along with spending money for a new weight room there. But wait, then the practice fields are down past the track and behind the tennis courts. Talk about dumb *** planning. I guess Croom didn't mind since he had his golf cart, but it seems they could have thought this through a little better before the Bryan and Shira buildings were built or renovated.<div>
</div><div>I'm just hoping the stadium is improved soon. Expansion can go at 1A but improvements need to be Priority 1. It looks like the back side of a bad high school stadium under the stands right now.</div><div>

Something to the effect of "We will start to practice indoors only when we are trying to get ready to play indoors in Atlanta." Obviously coachspeak, but still a valid point. Why practice indoors when every game of the year is played outside? Obviously bad weather is the exception.

Bad weather is not an exception. Occasionally games outdoors are played in bad weather.

If we need to practice execution of certain new or barely used plays for an upcoming game, we can do that in the Ralphie Center. I don't think a full size IPF is really needed for that.

I meant bad weather that makes it no longer plausible to practice in. The same type of weather that results in game delays or cancellations: heavy lightning, tornado prone weather, hail, etc. I didn't mean rain/wind.

is that he fails to recognize Mullen is getting exactly the response he wants. DiamondReb is the poster child of what Mullen is trying to invoke among the Bears. All of the bravado Mullen displays is simply an attempt to get a reaction from them, especially one that makes them appear to be petty and weak. If DiamondReb spent half the time he uses to dissect Mullen's comments and devotes it to analyzing the Bear's ineptness to defend the spread option, he would be the next Nick Saban.
