Down 20 to a UGA team that got beat by Colorado.

OT: Heard an intersting stat....Michigan is the only team in the country giving up more than 300 yds through air.

Seemed strange to me that UT was an 11 pt. underdog to Ga. but I was mistaken again.

Actually, I'mglad that bastard is gone.

But he is a band-aid coach like Mike Shula was at Alabama. In all honesty, he probably isn't quite ready to be a SEC coach. He did nothing at La Tech, unless you consider beating Croom at home a huge achievement, that made me think that he would be a great coach in the SEC. I remember back when we fired Croom, a lot of Genespagers wanted Dooley, and I thought that would be a huge mistake on our part. He is proving me right so far.

This is his first year at UT. He will get a pass, and they will blame everything on Lane Kiffen. In another year or two, they will get impatient and see that Dooley is not the answer, and then they will decide to pony up and get a good HC like Chris Petersen from Boise or whoever.

I think they took a lot of UT's recruits with them to USC. That's what's really hurting the Vols right now more than anything and probably the shittiest thing that Kiffen did to them in my opinion.

having the nice guy mentality. Not sure if he has the personality tolight some fires undersplayers buttslike a Meyer or Saban. One thing is for sure, the problem at UT has never been talent or fan support. So it will be all eyes on the head coach.

DOOLEY WILL GET AT LEAST 4 years and will do a good job at Tenn...he was left with very little and maybe had 1starter returning on the OL AND DL combined from last year..who in the hell can replace their entire OL and DL be a contender in the SEC?

I have said it over a over again. Saban took this guy everywhere he went and tried to take him to Bama. I assure you Saban isn't taking you to every job he gets unless you are a good coach.

And you can say he did nothing at La Tech, but he did take them to their first bowl in 35 years and won it. He was only there three years and didn't really have time to build a program

Just sayin'.

And a big reason they went to a bowl was on account of beating Croom. That same La Tech team also got beat by Army and had wins over the likes of Southeast Louisiana- only beat them by two scores or so, Utah State, Idaho, New Mexico State, and San Jose State. The only team remotely worth a darn that they beat was Fresno State which went 7-6 that year, and that was by a field goal.

But what would worry me is the fact that after that bowl season, he actually had his worst season at La Tech at 4-8.

no matter who the coach is. They're in a pretty good area as far as recruiting and Texas is only a stone's throw away.

I think Billy Brewer had some success there back in the day.

Maybe that's why I have the opinion I do. A good coach should be able to recruit and win some games there pretty consistently. The WAC is not exactly a tough league, and it's about to get even easier.

but it is dead wrong. La Tech played in the 1990 Independence Bowl and tied Maryland 34-34. They haven't even been playing in Division IA for 35 years I don't think. I'm guessing the Dooley family started this falsehood.
