So is it safe to say Dixon had a craptastic combine?

Good broad jump, but other than that.... I haven't seen where he's finished in the top ten in any other event. Could he possibly not have done bench reps, vertical jump, etc?

ETA: Found the 15 reps, which blows. Still haven't seen vertical, which I figured he'd excel in (for his size).

4.65 is pretty darn good for a guy his size, and in all his Under Armour gear he looked pretty cut.

I noticed that the ticker said McCluster ran a 4.58. That's barely cracking the top 10 in running backs and well outside the top 10 for wide receivers

He was a great college back, but I dont expect much from him in the NFL. I think Dixon's best hope is to try to be the short yard back/fullback kind of guy, there is just no way he's a featured back.

He'll probably be a 3rd round pick, maybe 4th.. Both were great, but McCluster is a better pro prospect.

McCluster is a Reggie Bush type back, and many teams just don't have a fit for that player. He'll be a good slot receiver somewhere.
Dixon is an every down back. He's got the size and strength. He'll serve somebody well.

Same size, same 40 time, similar style.

I think the NFL wants speed out of their RBs more than power, even in their physical backs. Dixon hasn't done anything to help his stock since the Egg Bowl.

He was a GREAT college back though.

Dixon was disappointing in the bench press, but his forty time was about what everyone expected. I don't think he hurt his draft stock too much, and I think he will be a better pro than LenDale White.

than a 4.66. Honestly, I don't know and I am too lazy to look it up. Bettis obviously wasn't a burner. Alstott probably wasnt that fast either. He had a good career.

40 times for running backs are a joke for the most part. They just need to hit the hole fast. Incidentally if Dixon had run a 4.59 at 230+ no one would say he was slow. You know the difference between 4.66 and 4.59 in feet? 1.820575 feet or approximately 21.63 inches over 40 yards.
