So, it's Palatine, right?

So, they actually tried him first as on OT and Defensive End. He doesn't really have that "nasty" personality for the trenches it seems.

What he does have is a great set of hands. He's a really good basketball player who has started/starred on Palatine's varsity b-ball team as a freshman and sophomore, and it seems the ball handling skills he has acquired there really help him here. He never drops a pass, and he's got OK speed for his size, but he can just tower over DBs and catch passes and rumble through/over people.

You can catch a glimpse of him in Ayala's Hudl video, he's #90. He's the receiver in the plays that start at 0:45, 0:59, 3:56, 4:55 and 5:58.. He's just a blast to watch play,

Can’t they teach nasty?

We had a gentle giant who was goaded into becoming nastily, and ultimately, a DT at Nebraska.

The good he appears to have good hands and he is huge.
The bad he is really slow and blocking seems less than desirable. Hence the nice not nasty comment.

Maybe can work in as a tight end but he will need to learn how to block.

He’s young and so large that hopefully he grows into his body. Seems as though he doesn’t have a really good sense of his space. It will come and when it does. Yikes! He has an NFL body.

KPJ - did he grow up in palatine? I don’t remember seeing him on any PAFA roster.

He’s got great hands. This kid is awesome. How about #72? That kid is enormous too.

Blocking is tough for a kid this big and young. He’s not strong enough or coordinated enough yet to stay low. Slow hands. He will get better.

I remember years ago at LWE we had a kid that was huge 6’6 played offense line. Great kid, never
could learn the aggressive part of football. He was just a really nice big kid. He ended up quitting. I have other examples, it’s not easy to make a kid nasty. It’s just not in them. Regardless maybe he will maybe he won’t but just because he is huge doesn’t mean he will ever be good. Let’s not talk about NFL he needs to get through HS at this point.
Good luck to the young man.

The reality is, it seems the sport he really loves is basketball, and I'd think his future post HS is gonna be in that sport.

Regardless, he is fun to watch catch a football...and like I said earlier I saw every varsity and JV game this year and cannot recall him ever dropping a pass.
