So Jason Garrett has to know something on Jerry Jones right?

I mean how can such a horrible NFL coach who is surrounded by talent and still not able to get past the 1st weekend of the playoffs still have a job? I have seen guys fired who did a lot better job than Garrett get canned after 1 or 2 seasons but this guy seems to have a free pass. He surely has to have pics of Jerry dressed as a woman or a video of him running down a homeless person with his car or something.

I think you have to have a guy lined up before you fire him. I think Lincoln Riley would be the choice if he wanted the job. I know Sean Payton wants the job. For the last few year the cowboys have struggled in the red zone. Too many field goals settled for. Sunday was a good example. Down 7 with like 6 minutes to go. Get to the 10 and stall. Kick a field goal. You have to go for it there.

Sean Payton is my first call if I’m JJ. Make him say no.
Probably so. I think Payton would want it but feels loyal to the saints. They have an much talent on offense as anyone and Payton would kill it with the boys.

I think Riley is a huge gamble. Everyone wanted the young coach the last two years.. yet there's McVey, getting blown out at home to the Ravens, about to be 6-5, with what appears to be ZERO good wins this year (Bengals, Falcons, Panthers w/o Cam, Saints w/o Brees, and the Browns during their tailspin)..

I'm not saying McVey can't become a great.. but I think we swung too far into young coaching hires a bit. Not to mention Lincoln Riley will never have the type of talent gap in the NFL as he did at Oklahoma playing in the Big12..

He's Jerry's puppet. They're gonna continue to suck as long as Jerry is running the show.
I think there’s some truth in that. Jerry’s ego got in the way with Johnson and Parcells.

I hate New England but Craft always seemed like the perfect owner. Sits back and let's the coaches coach. Takes some credit but not too much credit.

I love it. Can't stand the Cowboys or Jerry Jones. I hope he keeps Garrett for many, many more years.
No quality coach is going to the Cowboys as long as Jones is still there. There is no way that anyone like Sean Payton would even touch the job. If Bill Parcells couldn't get it done no one else can under this regime. If Garrett gets fired it'll be another cut rate, puppet to Jerry Jones coach.

Hard to imagine a college coach coming into the NFL as a HC and having success these days. When Jimmy Johnson was at Dallas those were different times. Just don't see it happening.

Certainly not young ones in their 30s. Obviously Baltimore is good, and a lot of teams are going to lose to them.. but LAR got blown out. And aince my last post, you now have some media members saying "Yeah McVey might wind up in the hot seat over the next few years".

I'd take my chances with Riley before I would with Urban, don't trust his "health" issues. Hopefully the next coach can work with Dak, believe he has the tools to be a very good QB, maybe not elite level but not too far below either. And they never should have given dumbass(EE) the big contract, especially not that soon.

I completely disagree. Like them or not they are still a top 3-5 job in football. Same as Yankees Red Sox dodgers lakers celtics. They a blue blood in the NFL. I do agree jones has hurt them to some extent. I think as he gets old he wants one more run at a title. He is panicking a bit. They have top 5 talent.

I have to admit that I’m a LR fan and hope he stays far away from Dallas.
I like Jerry Jones but hate how he runs that team .

It’s kind of depressing to see how far the Cowboys have fallen. Like, with their resources and support, they should contend most years. Most coaches don’t want to work for Jerry Jones, so the Cowboys are stuck with Garrett or some other puppet coach.

I disagree.. first of all, Cowboys get no more resources than any other team, aside from a Thanksgiving game and a household name. They have no extra advantage. This isn't the college game.

Which brings me to this: Why are the Cowboys so hated? They get no extra help, they haven't done anything in 30 years, they don't generally have dis-likeable players. Even their fans, while maybe large in numbers holding onto the past, are pretty respectful.

If you ask me, Pats, Seattle, Giants, Philly fans are worse.. just off the top of my head.

But as for the Cowboys this year.. they blow. No idea why people thought they would down the 8-3 Bills. Dallas came in beating NO ONE of note, and even lost to my Jets when Darnold still had the college kissing disease and bad kidneys.

Tonight should not have been a surprise. The Bills biggest flaw is themselves: being engaged every game and Allen not having a stinker of a day. But they are a solid team otherwise.

They lost 3 games by a total of 6 points.

Disagree if you want but no one in their right mind is working for Jerry Jones. Blue Blood of the NFL, are you serious? Nothing more than an average team that's overrated due to TV ratings.

Yep, and who are you going to get if you're Jerry?

The Bills do have a good defense and their offense really hasn't produced that much, until today against Dallas' overrated defense. Nevertheless, it's a road win for them and they have to be feeling good about their playoff chances. And you are 100% correct; Dallas has beaten no one. Easiest schedule in the NFL and will struggle to win the division.

LineSki, This is the same poster that claims Sean Payton wants the Dallas job and that the Cowboys have Top Five talent. Sounds like Cowboy fans where I live in Fort Worth. Delusional.

I have no dog in this fight. I kinda sympathize with Dallas fans a bit. I do think Dallas has some great talent. And I would say their offense is top5 in talent. But Ed, like most of his debates, is off base. Sean Peyton isn't going there. Dallas needs to hire young, but not too young. Greg Williams on the Jets would be a smart hire honestly.

Yep. Dallas is very overrated at this point. And that's not some "hater" statement. The Bills are a SOLID team, at bare minimum. They just need to tighten the screws a bit. Pull it all together. But they are poised for the future, as are the Jets.

Sorry by 8. And 4 games by 12

Jets by 2
Saints by 2
Vikings by 4
Pats by 4

OK. But those teams have some question marks themselves.

The Jets just got their QB back.
The Saints, without looking, I imagine didn't have Brees (?)
The Vikings aren't that great.
Pats are VERRRRY overrated at 10-1

Do YOU think Dallas is a good team? Keep in mind, I actully like Dallas, simply because they make common fans go crazy (and I hate the Giants).. So I'm not trying to downplay them.

Good team yes. Great team no. Playoff team maybe. Philly should win Sunday so they will be tied. Offense has looked very good at times. Kicking game has been ***. Red zone offense has been poor at times.

The Cowboys aren’t that talented. If not for their pee wee schedule the first half of the season, they’d likely be 2-10 or 3-9 at this point. As usual, their fans are oblivious to this reality.

In reality, what has happened to football in New York? I work with several guys from there and neither team has been competitive for some time now. Teams in New York should be solid every year and I'm surprised that the Giants have been down this long.
