Rick, it would definitely seem that way but never underestimate Jerry Jones. They Cowboys were in the playoffs last year and without a total collapse will more than likely win the weak NFC East. I could see JJ using that as an excuse to keep him.Garrett probably knows one thing now, he’s going to be cleaning out his office once the season is over.
In reality, what has happened to football in New York? I work with several guys from there and neither team has been competitive for some time now. Teams in New York should be solid every year and I'm surprised that the Giants have been down this long.
Well, not sure what's happened but for the longest time the Giants were always fairly solid. Every team has their ups and downs but football in New York has been unusually down for a while. So i keep hearing this.. that some NFL teams should be better for x y or z. But that doesnt make sense to me. Its not like the Giants get to use their great net worth for more players.
If anything, playing in NY is a negative for two reasons: horrible taxes and awful media to deal with. Unless you're the Knicks or the Yankees.. i bet most players wouldn't prefer a NY team.
That said, you're right. New York (city) football is bad. Not great coaching. And the Jets have a bottom 5 owner along with dealing with the Patriots success.. which has been SO great its caused the ither 3 AFCe teams to constantly turn their staff over.
I don't think he's going anywhere at all after this season. As bad as they've been it's a real possibility that they could win at least 3-4 of their remaining games and be Division Champions, which doesn't mean a whole lot but would give Jerry an excuse to keep him. They have the Bears, Eagles, Redskins and the Rams (I think) on the schedule. None of those teams are exactly world beaters so it's a possibility. Why would anyone think Garrett is going anywhere? He's been way worse than this in years past. He's not the coach, Jerry is. Any coach worth a hoot could see Dallas is about to be a disaster because Jerry is such a **** gm. What are they going to do when all the money is spent on Dak, Zeke, Coop, and Lawrence? It's not the NBA you can't pay 3 guys and have all vet minimum guys. Look at the Patriots roster structure, everyone calls Belicheck an ******* when he lets guys walk to take big money with other teams but it's why they are so good year in and out. He knows in the NFL five 7's are better than one 9. Brady takes less money instead of holding out for more money, they've created a culture that people want to play in for less than they could make otherwise. Jerry will never do that and they'll never win big again until he's dead.

I like Jones' potential, however, if something is not done about their putrid defense they'll never get any better.Well, the Jets, yes lol.
But the Giants have two titles in just a bit over a decade. And no one else has won two in that time, other than the Pats. Giants are just in a bit of a slide, dealing with Coughlin's departure and the Eli era ending.
It will be interesting to see what happens with Dan Jones.. It's not going to be something in the middle.. either this guy is going to curse this team for the next ten years (in not drafting Kentucky's Josh Allen and wasting Barkley's prime without a good QB).. or he will be one of the greatest draft picks in years. Jones has showed he can have some great games.. but he hasn't been playing well as of late and he needs to take care of the ball.
It's crazy to think, the Giants would have had Josh Allen at 6th, kept Lawrence at 17th (or grabbed someone different than their 2nd DE, Jacobs, Harry, McCoy in hindsight), and then grabbed Jones at the 30th. Imagine THAT type of haul in the 1st round..
How many of you so-called Cowboys “fans” have ever lived a year in Texas?
I completely agree. You like who you like. I live in Kentucky. Never been to Texas. Growing up I watched football and basketball with my grandfather. He liked the cowboys. We watched the cowboys every Sunday. I became a cowboy fan.Are you not allowed to be a fan of a team that you didn't live near? I must have missed that part of the fan test.

But.. i loveeee where my Jets are at right now.
We're 4-7 after being 1-7.. while being arguably the most injured team this season. Darnold is a great young QB, and for the first time in over a decade, we dont have to waste draft picks on a QB. Jamal Adams.. top5 defensive player right now? Hes everything you want in leading your defense. Our offense players are coming around. We might not need to draft corner backs.. we can focus Oline, positions which are absurdly underrated. On top of all of it, Pats end is in sight and it could be this year.
