But, as a general rule, the numbers are in favor of taller QBs. I think it's fair to say that short QBs are the exception to the rule. I think most fans would be concerned about Favre's height in any given year. MSU fans are just hypersensitive to that attribute right now because of Tyson and have made it a bigger deal than it normally would be.
state fans are over reacting because of tyson lee and michael henig. if we hadn't had two absolutely garbage short quarterbacks in the past decade (in which we only had 1 winning season with carroll, btw...) we wouldn't be seeing so much BS about dylan favre. i refuse to bash this guy until he hits the field - and if he makes poor decisions like henig and lee, he will deserve all this attention. until then people should really lay off.
...Mullen's top few QB targets? I think the size is more of an explanation. It's not just his size. I think some people are looking at it like Michael Herrick. He had all the numbers, set the California high school yardage mark, but just didn't cut it in D1.

It was pretty well documented here that the only legit reason one could criticize the Favre recruitment was because of his height. His offer lists and jacked up delivery (very Tebowish) were off limits.
