So John Bond is talking now?

That Kenny Rogers and Cam approached John Bond and Bill Bell about "pay for play". Isn't that known?

Unless the tapes somehow get Auburn involved - then the tapes don't prove anything that's already out there.

and ask hm why it maters? He seems he is ready to talk. He is supposed to go more in detail next week, maybe he will say what is on the tapes? Maybe they have the conversation where Cam says the money is too much at Auburn

The reason Cam didn't get in trouble was because the NCAA determined he had no idea of what his father was doing. If there is a tape out there with Cam on it discussing anything related to the pay for play scheme, he is toast, which in turn will toast Auburn because Cam will be ineligible.

Everything involved in this so far has only implicated Cecil. If there is evidence Cam knew, then he will get in trouble for knowing about the solicitation, and ruled ineligible. I don't think Auburn is going to ever get in trouble. They will only be affected indirectly by the actions of Cam. If he's ruled ineligible, then Auburn will lose everything from this past season. I know alot of people want Auburn to burn, but I'm guessing for now, implicating Cam and indirectly getting Auburn will have to suffice.

Cam already got what he wanted and is riding off into the sunset of the NFL. He got his notoriety, got his NC and the Heisman. Worst case for him is he might have to return the Heisman but he still won it. Only question might be would it affect his endorsement deals?

But I want Bond to shut his damn mouth. I don't think anything good can come from him flapping his gums.

Not that I don't think Auburn will eventually be busted, I'm just tired of hearing about these things and they never come to fruition.

Bond, shut the f*ck up. Don't bring anymore negative attention to MSU, which is what will inevitably happen. Even if Auburn gets in trouble, we still don't look good being a bunch of tattle tales all the time.

I'm not interested in getting other programs in trouble period, but especially not at the risk of our own program hurting for it.

Finebaum shows is all over this. Should be a fun afternoon....

Brooks tweeted just now that AU pulling Robinson out of LA and getting player second year in a row is straw that broke camels back with LSU.

So LSU is in on the game now

Also says watch for Thayer Evans piece this afternoon, and we all know Thayer hates AU

Auburn's assumed downfall, but our best bet is just to STFU about the whole thing. That includes John Bond, and it includes Dan Mullen. I'm convinced that's our best course of action at this point. (Actually the best course would have been keeping our names out of this from the beginning, but it's too late for that.)

I say just stay out of it and let them deal with Auburn. Nothing good for MSU will come out of further investigation, so why invite it?

to shut Bond up as far as media outlets go. I would assume the NCAA has already been given whatever Bond has access to and that is the main thing. Going on radio blabbing this and that when the NCAA is essentially leaking that they have no solid trail anywhere wrt Auburn just doesn't look good.

Of course that will never take away the memories of what he did, but the principal of it to know he cheated and didn't get away with it is justice enough for me. And if that happens, Auburn gets to return all of their stuff. That's all I want. I don't care if Auburn burns, I just want Newton to get caught, and Auburn to get penalized from Newton getting caught.

Everytime Bond has gotten on the radio or TV or whatever, new news has come out right afterwards. Bond was on The Zone last night in Huntsville talking, and today we see all this stuff about Auburn and Louisiana. Samething happened last fall. Bond said ESPN came to him and said "we're running the story with or without you."

That tells me that there are some members of the media staying in touch with Bond. Which tells me they have a great deal more information than they have put out so far. Remember, Veazy said he had been investigating the story for a month, but Bond wouldn't talk.

I want just a few simple little doable things to occur:

1. AU to get hit with sanctions falling just short of SMU and just beyond USCw;
2. AU to vacate wins in 2010/11 with SEC championship stripped and MNC stripped and treated just like 04/05 where no BCS champion is recognized;
3. Newton to forfeit Heisman;
4. Trooper banned from all but D3 (where there are no schollies);
5. Lowder in prison and dissociated from AU permanently;
6. Cecil imprisoned for tax evasion.

i say keep talking. it keeps the whole thing in the public eye, and public pressure is the only way the ncaa and the sec will actually get around to dealing with this. and for those thinking it makes msu look like ****, all my oregon friends and all my dc friends think msu looks like the one sec program (besides vandy) that doesn't openly cheat and is pulling for us now. we've also got fla in our corner which is a big ally to have within the sec. <div>
</div><div>the fact that everything in the initial espn articles except actual evidence of the phone has been proven or admitted true by cecil newton gives msu and john bond a lot of credibility with cfb fans across the country. </div>

...I don't want to get greedy here, but your list looks good. I'd just throw in another item....a statement from the NCAA clearing MSU of all things related to the Newton saga. Without one, the right reverend and others will continue to play the NCAA probation card during recruiting.

Got rid of the drugstore TP trees as payback for them nasty Aubbies dudes sticking that AU sticker on the Bear's statue in T-Town. Such disrespect of the Bear should not be overlooked by the Tide.

They must be put in their place as the illegitimate lower AL brother to the T-Town crowd.

fromSBB article (]NCAA is also focusing its attention on so-called “street agents” like Nelson, with similar NCAA probes currently taking place around the country[/b]."</p>You mean like Bond, Rogers, and Bell?

Gist of the recording is that HBO is doing a documentary on the Cam Newton saga, and MSU does not want to participate. Stricklin has asked Bond and Bell not to get involved, and they are trying to decide what they should do.

spectacular recruiting season but at this point I'm more worried about what guys we are recruiting think than I am what CFB fans outside the South think. I don't know if the Cam publicity situation hurt us that much or not, maybe it WAS simply others were paying and we were not, BUT it certainly didn't help so I would just as soon put the whole thing to bed from our end of it and let the NCAA do whatever job they are going to do against Auburn (which likely won't be much no matter how much Bond talks given the current environment).

He told me that Bell was not talking to HBO, but Rogers and Bond had already been interviewed by HBO. I think it is their Real Sports show.

Shane on Finebaum has brought this up a few times. The first time that I heard him say it I did not think much about it, but he has brought it up several times. You know damn well that Rogers would talk if there is any money involved.

No telling what Rogers would say about those guys, and then you would just have HBO saying "Bond and Bell refused to comment on these allegations...."

I'm not exactly all "black helicopters" about this, but I get the feeling there is no love lost between the NCAA offices/SEC offices/Mike Slive, and MSU. They would only do something like that if their hand was absolutely forced.

maybe i'm just a pissed *******, but i want cam and auburn to get what they deserve and i want things done above the table and within the rules as much as possible, and letting this **** go isn't gonna help us win because we'll always be outbid by bama and lsu and auburn and tenn and whoever else we are bidding against. i don't think the "publicity" of the newton scandal hurt us, i think the fact that other programs see that slive will try to protect them while we are under the microscope hurt us. i think trying to just accept cheating in hopes of us landing a marginally better class while refusing to blow the whistle on blatant cheating is not going to get us any closer to the top. most of all i want those smug lower alabama rednecks to have to admit they bought a title.

on Huntville TV it was reported that the three Aubies in the FBI sting are tryingto have their wiretap tapes suppressed.
I found it strange that only the Aubies were fighting it.
