His first start was against LSU in the tourney where he pitched: 4.2 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 3 K in 73 pitches.

On the year he is: 24.1 IP, 23 H, 9 ER, 21 K, 6 BB, .253 opp BA, given up just 2 extra-base hits in 13 app.

Samford will be starting Sr. RHP Kyle Putkonen: 3-5, 5.50, 14 starts, 72 IP, 92 H, 44 ER, 26 BB, 59 K, .311 opp BA

All of this info is from Matthew Stevens per twitter.

He is going to be facing 7 right handed batters in their lineup. Our staff is going to HAVE to keep the ball down today. FSU did a fantastic job of keeping their pitches down in the strike zone. We got in trouble Friday from missing with some pitches up in the zone and they promptly placed them over the fence.

They have shown, as recently as Friday, why they are a top notch hitting team. Even if they are throwing BP, our guys lack the power that Samford has. We cannot go out and beat them with both teams throwing BP. We need a solid pitching performance, which we usually accomplish, and we will be fine.

He's putting usin a position to win the tournament. Lindgren's going to have to win a game for us to win it anyway. Why not use him against the weaker team. This leaves us with Woodruff, both Mitchells, Pollorena, Holder,Routt and probably Graveman some on Monday all in good shape to go. We've got plenty of pitchingto win this regional. Just need a littletimely hitting.

As recently as yesterday, we have shown we can hit pitching mistakes. We had at least 4 balls hit the wall yesterday and almost go out. If the wind isn't blowing left to right, we probably have 2 or 3 HR's yesterday. I still think we will blow out Samford. I said 5-0 yesterday but since we are starting Lindgren I will change it to 9-2.
