I don't feel good about him staying announcing this early. I was thinking he would wait to see who the new coach is. The fact that he is not lends me to believe he has already made up his mind and that it to go pro.

it's the best decision for him to see where he stands. There is no harm by him doing this.

i dont know anything about basketball, but I assume he's gone if he is anywhere in the 1st round?

if not, I'd say it's about 50/50. Even without a guarantee and this being a very deep draft, I think he has enough upside that it would be very hard for him to drop out of the first round.

All of this is per Katz yesterday. I doesn't matter what he says Monday, next week or even April 10. He could tell the new coach he is coming back then change his mind and go to the draft through April 29 (I think that's the day). There is nothing to stop him from waiting until April 29 to tell the NBA. He also can't work out for NBA teams so whatever evaluation he has now is probably all he is going to get because the NBA doesn't scout that much until the playoffs start.
