is apparently pretty popular. He has been homeschooled for all his life, just started public school since we moved to PA, has a ton of friends, and the most popular girl in school has latched onto him. She wants to wear his away jersey when he plays home games. Honestly, very new to me as I was never popular in school. He's a good kid and I find how he has a good conscince for only being 14 years old. I know I will get all types of feedback here, but curious how any dads on here handled your sons who were very popular.

How did a Campbellite end up in PA?

-make sure he spends time with guys
-allow him his freedom to have a life and make some mistakes
-make your rules clear and hold him accountable
-ALWAYS. ALWAYS, create time with just you and him in the truck or working on something........and let him drive the conversation (if he wants to talk about her, then that is what you talk about.......if he wants to talk about putting a whipple super charger on a v8.....then smile, and just listen to the merits of a whipple supercharged v8)
-learn to give him some space......as he gets older, his room is his domain, give him that. home should be safe, and full of food, and inside of the family home, he should have his space
-if at the last minute he asks to have 4 friends over.....say yes, and go get food and snacks and cook......if any of his friends don't like bacon, then ask them to kindly leave
-sunday morning family time around church and lunch together
-FOOD....lots of FOOD, and when you think you have enough FOOD, go get more, b/c you do not have enough FOOD
-ask the grocery store if they provide volume discounts on buying multiple gallons of whole milk at one time
-enjoy all of it, the good and bad, and have and show patience and calm

just a few things that come to mind

I don't have sons, but I used to be one. Skip Dog here put it on the money. I would add in there to have a few things just between you and him that your wife doesn't know. It builds trust between the two of you. You'll be glad when he comes to you later with a real problem. I have two daughters and my rule for me is to speak the truth, and tell the truth, be a great example and always be the same person every day so they can always know what to expect from me. Lord knows I never know who my wife will be day to day.

I wasn’t being flippant. I have two daughters and when boys came into the picture I had tough conversations with my sister and friends who had daughters and to a person they said “ get them on the pill” It was extremely difficult, but I did. And it was the right call.

One of my sons read a book called, "I kissed dating goodbye". It had a real impact on him. He was/is a good looking kid. He dated a little but if he didn't see them as wife worthy, he would not continue. His 1st serious girlfriend came at 26. He married her a little over a year ago. They are very happy.

Back in my day, a very popular guy gave his class ring to a girl and she either wore it as a necklace, or put several wraps of tape to reduce the size, then she wore it. It was a status symbol for both of them, and also was a hands-off symbol to other guys. Not to mention, giving her his letter jacket.

I'll be darned. My apologies Preach. One winter in PA and you'll be ready to migrate south. I worked for a company a few years ago that had our Corporate office in Pittsburgh and I was up there a good bit. PA is dang cold January - March.
I believe he's had a few winters in Rochester, NY so Pennsylvania will feel like a constant trip to the beach.

I've noticed homeschool kids in general have a higher level of confidence and awareness.

This is of course assuming most things in their life are generally normal, like a stable family situation, no mental issues, etc., which sounds like you have. So many have shaped their thinking about homeschooling based on the ones who used to do it early on, of which many had pre-existing problems.

My God, I'm so sorry. Your son is clearly the protagonist of some kind of anime. I hope it's a romance one where they profess they're feelings early on and enjoy a lifelong love. Because otherwise you're absolutely going to be killed off to start his Heroic Journey.

Fify. My kids are homeschooled. My son has missed out on being made fun of by his peers for doing dumb stuff in social settings. There are pros and cons to this. I make sure to mercilessly ridicule him every chance I get to offset his sheltering.
