You can go ahead and bet the farm that "Shug" will throw his name in the NBA draft next year. Just a matter of the interest level from the NBA if he withdraws and comes back.

and when I say better, I mean maybe NIT bait.

I think we would look like this:

Dee
Jalen
Hood
Moultrie
Renardo

If Renardo leaves by whatever means- NBA, Europe, police, alien abduction, etc..

Dee
Jalen
Hood
Wendell Lewis
Moultrie

And for whatever it's worth, I think this is Stansbury's last year. Just a hunch. I don't have any inside info, but it just feels that way.

I have seen hood being from Meridian and I know freshman have a huge adjustment to college ball, but Hood and Moultrie will be good

Unless Stansbury wins the SECT, I see no possible way he will be back next year.
Stansbury has his mulligan this year. If you want to see Hood, Smith, and Gardner ask for releases and go elsewhere, plus several other defections, then keep showing Ricky the door. We will be abysmal for the next four years.

I'm more interested in seeing Kodi and Ravern and the cancer they bring leave the program. We've lost some other dead weight this year, and with the at least 3 new freshman plus Moultrie, we will be a better team next year. Now, if we don't show staged improvement next year (and I mean fighting, at least, until the end for an NCAA tournament berth that doesn't involve winning the conference tournament), then Stans needs to be shown the door. Then, at least, you likely preserve some of your best talent. Fire him this year, and basketball will become far more irrelevant for a much longer while.

and you said you want to have a chance at the NCAA? So you are ok with not making it? If you are...unreal.<div>

I really don't think Stansbury is going to be back next year, either by his choice or by Stricklin's. Any athletic director not named Templeton could see the need to do something because the apathy that is setting in with the fans and the poor coaching on the court is just killing our program right before our eyes.

I imagine when we go over to Auburn and give them their only SEC win of the year then that will cement Stansbury's fate.

Stricklin will give him two more years, he all but told me that earlier this year. Didn't you know that we are a football school now.
Stans will get two more years to see what he does with that signing class he just got.

That's a good starting 5 right there. Smith and Hood are the real deal. Smith is as quick, if not quicker than Dee and should start next year at the point.
Hood can just play ball, that is all...

All we have to do is make a good coaching hire. Those guys arent coming because of some great love for The Recruiter. If this was the actual case, schools would almost never make coaching changes.

It's gonna be up to Scott Stricklin and others to decide whether or not we will make the changes necessary to go. That's three players that will be in the draft and probably be drafted. And that's without even knowing what Hood will be able to do. Sidneyand Dee would be idiots to leaveafter this year, if they like money as much as I do, especially after the article about what the scout had to say after Sidney's effortlessperformance against Georgia.

That is pretty impressive. Can you imagine having two guards on the court at the same time that can handle the ball? That line-up can dominate inside, at the elbow, and shooting threes (especially if Dee continues to progress with his outside shot).

I've been hearing for the past 8 years that the reason we can't get rid of Stansbury is because he is on the verge of "signing a class that is going to take this program to the next level."

It's been proven ******** every year for at least the last 8 years.

Out of Hood, Smith & Gardner, one will never qualify, one Stansbury will run off & the other will continue the legacy of Stansbury All-American recruits who turn out to be barely servicable SEC players.

So start facing reality as far as the Stansbury train-wreck is concerned.

having this one turn into the turd it is now has to change that line of thinking a little. Not to mention fewer and fewer fans in the seats at games.

I think he failed by not getting Tyler Adams and to an extent Johnny O'Bryant.
