To call the Florida Georgia game the biggest cocktail party in the south? Anyone else hear Rece Davis say this on the halftime show last night? Or am I being Germanic

"Due to sensitivity about consumption of alcohol by college students, the game is no longer called "The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party," and is now officially known as the Florida-Georgia/Georgia-Florida game. Additionally, in May 2006, the Southeastern Conference asked the three networks which broadcast SEC football games not to use the moniker "World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party," as it conveys a message regarding consumption of alcohol that the schools do not desire. Despite these efforts, 3 people have died in UF/UGA related partying downtown since the 2004 game."

And that was the first time I've heard anyone say it was politically incorrect to call it that.

The universities decided to stop officially calling it that because it encourages drinking. I think that's reasonable. They then asked ESPN, CBS, etc. to stop using it and they did. Although, it seems like now they still refer to the name but say they can't call it that which kinda defeats the purpose.

Nobody is going to act offended if a regular person still calls it that, so I don't think it's really a matter of political correctness.
