Someone said that he was going to start out at second base, had he qualified. Todd, I guess it is up to you to give us the rundown on which new signees will be expected to play which positions on the infield. Of course SS is the most important on the infield, and since Lewallen was going to start out at second, that lessens the blowalittle I guess. Who is expected to be the SS and does Demarcus Henderson factor in more heavilyat 2nd now?

figure in a little more into the middle infield situation. I saw DeMarcus play yesterday, and he did OK. I thought he turned a nice double play at second base, and he got a nice opposite field hit. He also struck out one time when he chased a pitch up in the strike zone. I think Adam Frazier from Georgia will probably start at second-he hit over .500 as a junior and a senior and holds the Georgia state record for doubles, and I know that this will make people vomit in their mouth, but there's also Sam Frost. Taylor Stark impressed me yesterday as well. He ripped a double and had another ball that he hit pretty solidly taken away by the second baseman for the other team. Garrett Pitts has also played second and SS in high school, but he may be moved to catcher.

Ogden will definately start at SS next year, and our middle infield after that will probably be DeMarcus Henderson and Adam Frazier. Ogden has been ripped for his lack of hitting ablility, and rightfully so. But he does play good defense typically, and he does have some occasional power- six home runs.

I really think Wes Rea will end up starting at first base next year. Yesterday, he hit a home run into the LF bullpen at Trustmark Park, and had an opposite field single, and was hit by a pitch. He is really impressive. He won the MVP of the South team in the 4A-5A-6A game.

As of now, I think the infield will look like this:

1B- Rea
2B- Frazier
3B- Jarrod Parks
SS- Ogden
