Just not Tennesse, Florida, or LSU. With that in mind, are we now a player with this guy?

Marve committed to Alabama at one point during his high school career, then ultimately chose Miami.

I bet he would start as soon as he is eligible.

He had it down to us, Bama, and Miami. Once Shula was let go, he decommited from Bama, Croom never went back after him instead we put all our eggs into Wes Carrol. I would love to get Marve, but I would rather have Russell at this point, I have had enough of the 6'1 QB's.

in football you have 85 scholarships. In basketball you have 13. You have a lot more leeway to take a chance on a guy like Marve in football.

we're talking about the highest profile position on the field. This guy and his Dad are simply trouble. Avoid.

Pros:
(1) MSU does not have a QB for 2010.
(2) MSU does not have a nationally recognized recruit in 2009. Sorry, but Russell is not someone Marve knows about.
(3) MSU has Mullen, the QB/OC of Florida.
(4) LSU has Jefferson and he is better than Marve
(5) UAT has McClarren? and Star Jackson who are high profile Freshman and Recruits
(6) USC has Garcia, who sucks, but he is friends with Marve. He does not want to take his friend's job.

Cons:
(1) UGA is expected to lose Stafford this year or possibly next. Perfect for Marve. Richt may not like the thugish Marve.
(2) OM has credibility with Snead and they have a strong recruiting force in Florida. They will be involved, I am sure.
(3) ARK has nothing but Dicks under center. Wal-Mart money and Petrino could go a long way. But Mallett could hurt.
(4) UK has nothing and they did well with Couch and Woodson.
(5) UAT could throw Star Jackson overboard. If he could not get PT against Parker, he may already be a bust.
(6) AUB is the closest SEC school to his sick dad (outside of UF) and they obviously need help and they have two geniuses Malzahn/Chizik in charge.

UGA has as high rated QBs on their roster. They have probably 3 QBs on campus about as talented with one or two more in August. He has to come in and redshirt the first year so he will be in competition with alot of QBs. If he goes to UM, Snead has the job for 2 more years so that gives him a shot at being a redshirt senior starting. Auburn and MSU are his best options for SEC. UK brings back Hartline and Ark has Mallet next year. I wouldn't throw out any QBs on Bama's staff since Parker is their career leader in almost every category. He isn't awful and he had alot of SEC starting experience.

That would be true for any quality QB lost in a depth chart in 2009, but kids do stupid things. Mustain left for USC, where he may never play. Pete just signed another California golden boy to complement all the Golden Boys in his QB stable. Blake barnes left UGA for Delta State, where he could have played at MSU to begin with as a 4 year starter.

If I had to make a case against Marve (having watched 11.5 Miami games this season): He thinks he is a better athlete than he really is (he thinks he is Tebow). He throws into double coverage. He does not make big plays throwing because he would rather pretend to be Micheal Vick. He is not a team leader because he is known as a party boy. He plays like **** against crap opposition (see Duke statistics). He is poorly developed. Miami had a horrible OC/QBC during his time at the U.

This being said, I would rather have him on a scholarship than Carroll or Relf. He is a decent gamble, but he already half way to being a bust. There is a possibility that the Miami players loved Jacory Harris enough to make Marve look like ****, small tiny possibility.

I've watched him.. he's not that good. I'll take Tyler Russell all day, every day.
