Actually, I think it's just overdue. Most schools have statues of coaches that have as much success as he did. In fact, I hear UT is building one of Neyland for next year.
enduring success since he was the head coach...and had a lot of it while he was. Had they hired Bob Tyler when Vaught retired, they probably wouldn't have missed a beat...and I don't even want to go there to discuss Tyler's tenure at State.
...considering if Jackie Sherrill would have retired (or passed away, or whatever) after the 2000 season, there would be a statue of him on the MSU campus right now.
