So per what I'm reading our OOC schedule for next year is....

to play home games against Troy and Bowling Green while we apparently have a road game at UAB. Of course the other game is rumored to be against OK ST at a neutral site in Houston. My question is why are we playing AT UAB again? We just played them there last year and of course don't play them at all this year. Why are we going there 2 times in a row? Anyone know?

Why are we playing OK State, if we do? Damn hadn’t we learned our lesson about scheduling OOC games that we can easily lose? We don’t have to play these guys. If we do it should be in a bowl game. Keep the OOC simple! Let me add this, what if the SEC goes to nine conference games next year and we keep OK State? <O:p</O:p

I agree, I'm perfectly happy with 4 OOC patsies though given the late date of cancelling the MVSU game we may be having trouble finding ANYONE for the opening game next year. Most folks are already committed to other games unless we want to fork out the dough to buy them out of their obligation.

The OSU game will be a 1-year deal. The SEC isn't going to a 9-game schedule any time soon anyway.

I know we had a 3-for-2 deal with UAB and then did a home-and-home with them a couple of years ago. I suspect we did the home-and-home at UAB first so we could get 7 home games every year and not have an 8-game schedule followed by a 6-game schedule. I'm guessing that if we do play OSU (Stricklin's comment on the story that broke last night was that it was "way premature"), we may get out of the trip to Birmingham (either buy out of it or postpone it) to schedule a I-AA team.

Don't need one. Their true freshman QB threw for 436 yards last week at Arizona.

Oklahoma State in the Texans awesome stadium on national television seems like an opportunity MSU can't afford to say no to.
