MSU students and bulldog club members. How does the board feel about that? More incentive to join the bulldog club thats for sure, but this will cut out alot of people if I had to guess!

I'd say the only "fans" that would go to a spring practice are already in the BC or are students in the first first place.

That, and I assume that these rules don't apply to visiting high school coaches that have come to observe practices or media members of any type.

It's sounds like it's simply a way to get a new BC member or two. Nothing wrong with that.

I am going to selfishly say I deserve some perks for supporting MSU football through the years. I went to La Tech and have been to LSU TWICE.

They should let me call a play or two.

VH could call a whole quarter.

Dan and Greg get to decide who to invite and who not to invite.Obviously, they have no better friends than Bulldog Club members and evidently they decided that BDC members deserve it. Evidently they decided those who provide no $$$ support don't.

They will let students in and that's ok. I'd have charged them a dollar to watch, so they learn to pay their way if they want special treatment.

You were a band geek. And if he gets a quarter, I get a half.

AA - would get fired midway through the tenure

I don't know what happened. But he has been a giant sack of suckage for about a year now.

Hey Kyle, the story is that Mullen is trying (cleverly, I might add) to encourage people to join the BC. The story is not that he's excluding the "legit media", you effing tool.

I used to think he did a good job as well. Now, it just seems like he wants to stir things up on the message boards by being a condescending *******. And yes, he generally looks for the negative and will pound whatever that negative is into the ground. With all the other information from other websites available, there's simply no reason to give this toolshed any views or hits to boost up his blog or whatever. Good job, Dan & Greg - 2 birds, one stone. Increase BC membership. Alienate Veazey. You guys are ingenious.

If you are serious enough of an MSU fan to go watch practices, then you should be in the Bulldog Club. It's not that expensive to give the minimum amount.

As for students, you should always include them in things like this. They are the lifeblood of the University.

jesus christ, its 100 bucks....join the BC.....i think its a genius move, and they should charge all beat writers who are anti msu $5K to see spring ball....

i used to be one of veazy's biggest supporters, and now, i am probably his biggest critic.....guy has gone off the deep end, reporting rumors, and negative news stories about the university he is suppose to be representing in the states largest newspaper....

veazy's long term career is looking dull at this moment...

why should someone in the media have to join the BC?

I am all for Joe Fan having to join.

at this point, im not sure i like veazy any more....6 months ago, i was his biggest supporter....seems like he is playing the 'liberal media' card.....people say he is doing his job....his job is to keep MSU fans reading the f'ing paper....he is not doing the state's largest publication with the state's biggest university any favors....

and not beat all the negative crap our athletics teams do into the ground, like he loves to do all the time. If the OM and USM beat writers don't do this, then why should ours? I'm not the only one that feels this way apparently, as there have been multiple threads over on BDJ trying to get his blog feed dropped to the free board (and I believe Wardlaw did indeed do that to appease some of the folks over there). I don't expect all sunshine all the time, but the way he reports, it obviously gets under the skin of some State fans. His job should be to keep us reading, not piss us off to the point where we make it a point to NOT to read his crap. And that's where I stand now. I went from thinking he did a good job to, now....I won't give him the time of day. If he wants to find out if Jackie Sherrill is at practice committing some type of NCAA penalty, he can pay $100 to the BC to do that now. I have no problem with that whatsoever.

I meant it would be funny to see veazy have to pay.....i think....i wrote this last night with a few toddys in the bloodstream.....just knowing that the ninja has already had a few talks with veazy during the titty gate, i would almost find it comical...

but you are right, as much media needs to be there as possible

1. - trying to get people to join the Bulldog Club and to provide the fanbase an opportunity to get closer to the team to build the excitement and support.<div>
</div><div>2. - deliberate kick in the sack to Veazy for that stunt he pulled last spring with the huge violation of having Jackie coaching the team.</div><div>
</div><div>"screw me once, shame on you; screw me twice, shame on me."-If Mullen allowed reporters in practice after he was screwed last year I would think that he was stupid. It is a privilege for the press to have open access to major college football practice as they did last year - It is very, very simple Veazy - you peed in your own Cheerios.</div>

You are right. He has no responsibility whatsoever to the Clarion Ledger to keep readership up, while trying to increase it. None whatsoever.

First, why would anyone on the Spirit care how Veazey writes since he doesn't cover their school? And how is it good for business again to piss off the fanbase of which you are the beat writer? Because fans of other schools will buy more papers because of it, therefore balancing the loss of readership from the other fanbase? You obviously didn't spend too much time in McCool did you?
