Anything new at the PK position will be an improvement. I don't think our head coach had confidence in our PK last season as we had more unsuccessful fake field goals than any season I can remember.
Sadly, since he was the starter, that means he was the best PK on the roster. I don't recall any high profile PK signees the last few years.

Like a mechanic told me years ago about trying to upgrade some performance parts on a truck I had "sometimes, the **** you've got is better than the **** you get".

Actually I think the staff is pretty high on redshirt freshman Mason Love. He may end up doing both punting and kicking for Carolina this fall.

Definitely a big question mark for the season though.

That's what I was thinking as well. Usually when you recruit a 3* kicker, he is meant to ultimately be your starting kicker. May have wanted to get him integrated and comfortable in the program before throwing him out there.
