I am going to go out on a limb and say he'll play well against the bad competition but not as well against SEC teams.

It's nice to see him getting a shot on the mound and at the plate.

The intense bastard can recruit. Gotta give his *** credit for getting bradford and Norris both. Those 2 are baseball players. Good to see testosterone on the field. Aggressive. Intense. Looks like these young bucks are having a positive influence on the others.

The pitching appears to be ahead of schedule. Let's see how they respond to legit comp.

I remember Polk bringing him in to close out a tight SEC game in the first SEC series of his freshmanseason. I remember thinking I couldn't believe he was putting a freshman in that situation.Turned out pretty good.

But, I think he will have his peaks and valleys just like every other freshman we have. Most of them are doing well against weak mid-major competition.

The SEC is going to be an adjustment period for them- when they see guys like Sonny Gray of Vanderbilt and Nathan KIlcrease for Alabama.

I do think his future is bright. He was drafted by the Rangers out of high school.

After yesterday's performance on the mound, I'm starting to think that he might be a weekend starter for us in a year or so once he refines some of his pitches. Jury is still out on that until he continues to have a couple more good outings.

We really won't know about this team until after they play Vanderbilt unless they lose a bunch of these games early and look bad a la Southeastern Lousiana last year.

He has yet to abandon the team mid-game to truck off to Fairhope. But it's early.

Even though he had a great two innings last night, I'm not expecting tons out of him against sec teams when he is pitching, but he should do a decent job at first this year.
