Jim was stunned on the air and completely stopped talking during the post-game interview. I hope somebody punches that damn Umpire out for making that ******** call on phantom "foul" ball that could have ended the game in Maroon & White.

the batter dribbled one out to Stark and Stark threw him out at first which would have ended the game. Apparently the home plate umpire called it a ball in play but the base umpires came in ruling the ball hit the batter in the box and was foul. Jim really didn't act like he knew what the correct call should have been so who knows if it was right or not.

and then routinely threw to First Base for the Final Out and Ballgame - but wait we are M-State - because then the mother17ing First Base Ump ruled it foul but the Home Ump called it Fair but he deferred to the First Base *******. Then all Umps had a meeting to discuss the play and then later it was ruled Foul!...who the 17 knows but it seemed like a ******** call that should have been ruled Fair...which lead to Mingione's yelling his head off at somebody in the postgame.

but it is not uncommon for the home plate umpire to defer to the first base umpire when deciding if a ball was fouled off the batter's foot or leg. It is more difficult for the home plate umpire to see the play because he is looking at it from behind and through the catcher. The first base umpire has a better view from out front of it. Once again, I have no idea if the ball actually hit him or not, but the home plate umpire defering to the first base umpire is not uncommon in that situation.

their were words that were not appropriate for the air going out over the broadcast. That is my only guess of why Jim seemed scared. Just seemed to me that he was in shock and did not know exactly what to say or do.
