Seriously, the Cubbies are going to need their farm system to produce big time in the next 5 years if they hope to have a chance to win at all in the near future with so much of their payroll locked up in guys like Zambrano and Soriano.
should I continue saying "there's always next year"... or should I adopt "next year might be bad, but 2013 should be ok..."
Hopefully guys like Castro, Colvin, Vitters, Cashner and Jackson will turn into decent players. This team is getting old and almost all of them have no-trade clauses. Soto is the only every day player under 30.
